Hi folks,
Just thought that I'd let all and sundry know I'm at least 1600+ kilometres South of the flooding in North Queensland and around 800+ kilometres North of the fires in Victoria. There are a few fires burning in New South Wales at present, but none of them are anywhere near me.
Last figures I saw for Victoria were 173 dead, including English born Aussie actor, Reg Evans who played the Station Master in the 'original' MAD MAX movie thirty years ago. Entire townships and villages have been razed to the ground - Sydney Morning Herald.
Temperatures are finally down here in Portland today and I may try and catch a little more sleep. Currently they are down at 16.2ºC (61.2ºF) here in Portland - the weather station is just three kilometres (about 2 miles) South-East of me.
