I'm with you Mr Nector.

To me the Brits are just another industry junket, designed to promote specific artists, and make lots of cash.

Duffy won several, I believe, and whilst I don't dislike some of her single releases, having seen her perform live on the TV recently I now believe her vocal talent is woefully short of what I expected. And she has little, or no stagecraft.

I don't object to artists like her, but it's a bit rich throwing awards at her. She shouldn't be encouraged !!

Having said this, The Mercury Music Awards have been responsible for promoting some solid talent in recent years, and I usually pick up something worthwhile from them.
