Lol – I’m listening to Camel too. Love that they used the metre of the camel's walk on Rajaz.

In the order in which I pulled them out - Rain Dances and Breathless. The Rain Dances album package is a delight … to me, anyway ... and t’s quite extraordinary that Andy Latimer is able to coax the same huge feeling from the flute as he is from his guitar!

There are some strange sounding instruments on this album – Liquid Boo Bams which are a real thing I find!! Then there are teeth, a Turkish ring and car horns, lol! The rather brief title track, on which Andy, Richard and Mel also play umbrellas -

SLADE "the amazing kamikaze syndrome"  vinyl/cd 1983:

UK Glam rockers' eleventh studio set...
Glam had died a quick death after three or four years but these guys kept going...
a genuine rock band...
they were the biggest singles band in the UK in the 1970s and were still doing it in the early
1980s with two singles off the album that narrowly missed out on the #1 spot on the charts and
both peaking at #2, the ballad "my oh my" and the almost danceable rocker "run runaway"...
the band never made it big in the US but this was their biggest album and contained their biggest hit
 over there with "run runaway"...
almost hard rock in places on this one, some glam, either way, its pure rock and roll!
and after Steve Marriott, Noddy Holder is my favourite rock vocalist....
three tracks on here I love, the two hits and the opening track, hard to decide which one I would call my
favourite track but I had to go for one of the singles because I love the fun video for it and I want to watch
it!

I LIKE THIS ALBUM

worst track: ready to explore
best track: run runaway

tracks:

1....slam the hammer down ***
2....in the doghouse **
3....run runaway ***
4....high and dry **
5....my oh my ***
6....cocky rock boys **
7....ready to explore *
8....C'est La Vie *
9....cheap and nasty love **
10..razzle dazzle man **

3s = 3
2s = 5
1s = 2

from the vinyl shed
has to be the worst AC I own
at the peak of his coke years
as this live clip shows
Alice claims to have no memory of this album

AEROSMITH "pump"  cd,  1989:

a brilliant band that I own little by (toys in the attic, and a compilation, plus this one!)....
band's tenth and comes a day after I posted Tyler's solo album....
raunchy rock and roll on here, some blues rock also plus a couple of rock ballads...
only country this reached #1 in was Australia and only country it spawned a #1 hit was in,
you guessed it, Australia, with Janie's Got A Gun....
album did sell 7 million copies in their homeland though and did have six singles make the charts...
this is kick ass bad-boy rock and roll, Mick and Keith would have been proud to have released this
under their name for sure...
a classy rock album by one of the most consistent bands in the industry!

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

worst track: young lust
best track: Janie's got a gun

tracks:

1....young lust **
2....F.I.N.E ***
3....going down/love in an elevator **
4....monkey on my back **
5....water song/Janie's got a gun ***
6....dulciner stomp/the other side ***
7....my girl **
8....don't get mad, get even ***
9....hoodoo/voodoo medicine man **
10..what it takes **

3s - 4
2s - 6
1s - 0

^Always good to see your reviews CH.

I'm listening to Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells II. Love it - one of my favourite albums ever - a fantastic piece of work that is engaging, soulful and interesting and which above all makes me feel happy - music that fills me up.

A live version of the opening track - "Sentinel" ...

do you prefer it over the original Tubular Bells Ruby???

the reason I ask is I prefer Thick As A Brick II over the original.
