Apparently students in South Africa have now taken to rioting and burning library books in universities because they think they should not have to pay for education. Where the hell do they think the money comes from to pay for the books in the first place? - the same ones that now have to be replaced because of their stupidity. South Africa has gone to sh*t. I remember a phrase from the series 'The World at War' - 'Where one burns books - there soon one burns people'. Seems in South Africa they got it the wrong way around - they've been burning people for years - now they're going after the books. Idiots!
A student started a campaign to remove all statues of Cecil John Rhodes from campuses around SA. So they merrily went on their way trashing the place because CJR represented the old colonial white ways. Turns out the same student was on a bursary fund set up by who? You guessed it - Cecil John Rhodes. Talk about biting the hand that feeds. How stupid can you get?
As Ian Anderson correctly predicted in his masterpiece 'Thick as a Brick' (an apt title for the subject at hand) - 'I may make you feel but I can't make you think'.
