POSTING GUIDELINES & FORUM RULES:

General Usage
  • First and foremost - we are all here for our love of music, to have some fun, entertainment and interaction with like-minded people; please keep it civil and polite.
  • We are an English language discussion board and therefore all posts must be in English. Don’t be shy - we appreciate all efforts to communicate by members whose first language is not English.
  • Debate and discussion are encouraged but personal attacks, insults and rudeness are not permitted. Bear in mind that this a global community and as such encompasses individuals from different backgrounds, creeds and cultures. There are bound to be differences of opinion across a range of subjects and everyone has a right to their own; please practice courtesy and respect.
  • Some threads lend themselves to an evolving conversation, however deliberately going off topic in order to disrupt a thread is not permitted. Staying on topic and being constructive is far more likely to encourage good quality discussion than choosing to be deliberately provocative and/or inflammatory.
  • We have a great ‘search’ tool which can be used to ascertain whether a subject you wish to discuss may already have been posted. Whilst not a requirement, it helps to keep the site tidier if we continue a subject/thread that has already been started.
  • Try to make sure thread titles describe the subject matter.
  • You may find a discussion opening up with greater ease if you elaborate a little as opposed to merely posting a link or an image.
  • Please respect copyright: either paraphrase information in your own words, or if copying and pasting (from Wiki, say), give credit to the source and delineate the copied section by using quotation marks or a different font, for example. Simply copying and pasting without giving credit may violate copyright laws. When referencing an outside source, please post a link to the information.
  • Duplicate posting of any description is not permitted.
  • Trolling and flaming posts are not permitted and will be removed. Should you encounter trolling posts, the accepted best strategy is simply to ignore them, rather than to respond. A response will generally only encourage further abusive behaviour.
  • Posting or linking to any disturbing, obscene, gory or pornographic material is strictly prohibited.
  • Our forum Moderators voluntarily offer their time, effort and knowledge to help the forum grow and succeed. They have the ability to edit/delete posts, and to move, close or delete threads at their discretion. If they close or delete a thread which does not comply with the prescribed guidelines and this thread contains a post by you, which in itself was perfectly acceptable, please be assured that this is in no way to be seen as a reflection upon yourself.
  • All new registrants will be asked for their main reason for wanting to join and we have the right to decline your application. Note: we may wish to contact you prior to acceptance if we require clarification for your reasons to join.
  • Automated spambots will be detected and automatically declined.
  • Upon joining you begin a short introductory period, meaning your account has less features until you post more than 10 posts and have been a registered member for 7 days. This is to prevent unwanted posts, ads, trolls and spam, and to uphold the quality of discussions. As a new introductory member you begin without the capacity to post links, or use signatures.
  • All new posts and threads go through an automated spam detection process. If a post appears as spam, it will require a moderator’s verification before being published.
Advertising & Promotions

ALL FORMS OF ADVERTISING ON MUSIC DISCUSSION ARE PROHIBITED

We do not allow anyone to post threads or send private messages or emails to users that advertise or solicit any products, services, funds or donations. Advertising in signatures is also prohibited. Making an account for the sole purpose of spamming to obtain 10 posts enabling the user to post a link for advertising or promotional purposes, is strictly prohibited and will result in an immediate ban. All previous account posts will be deleted.

Band/Music Promotion

Joining Music Discussion purely to promote your own or someone else's music is also prohibited. Any accounts being used for promotion will be banned and their posts deleted. Links to music in signatures are allowed, provided the account isn't being used for promotional purposes.

Rights & Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the staff to protect and maintain the well-being of the forum. Consequently, we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure the forums are not disrupted or abused in any way, including removal of content and user bans.
