Ah no! What a terrible shame. Jim Rodford has passed away after taking a fall on the stairs. He was 76. Bass player and founding member of Argent, then with The Kinks from 1978 up to their disbandment, and with the Zombies for the past 14 years, in their most recent incarnation, along with his son, drummer Steve. Rod Argent is his cousin. Awful news - thoughts with his family and bandmates. R.I.P. Mr Rodford …

R.I.P. Hugh Masekela who has passed away after a long battle with cancer. Known as ‘The Father of South African jazz’, he sought and gained a whole lot of respect in the USA and UK in the 60’s and 70’s before returning to SA in the 80’s. Versatile, unencumbered by genre pigeonholing and key in the world of fusion – he was a true national treasure. Sleep well Bra Hugh - another great gone.

RIP - Mark Smith from the Fall - dead at 60 - can't say I know any of his stuff. Seemed to be a bit of an oddball.

^Did not know of him at all, but R.I.P. Mark Smith.
It would have been The Temptations Dennis Edwards' birthday today but he passed away either Thursday or Friday - had had a stroke and there were complications. He was 74. R.I.P. Mr Edwards ...
