Musician Deaths - 2018
love all those 60's hits
and even the Freeway song JOSH mentioned
that album Who's Zoomin Who? from 1985 was considered a comeback album
being her highest charting since the 70's

it also gave us this standout for me

Another one of the greats gone. The list is getting depressingly long.

We are rapidly running out of legends.

cause of death: oesophageal cancer

originally a session muso for Gene Vincent, Jerry Lee Lewis and Eric Clapton to name a few...
went on to have a number of hits in his homeland of the UK during the 1970s/80s as part of Chas & Dave
with their boogie-woogie/music hall/vaudevillian/ old ragtime style of songs..
retired due to ill health several years ago after playing the huge Gladstonbury Festival in 2014 and supporting
Eric Clapton on his last UK tour around the same time...

their biggest hit:

MARTY BALIN (Jefferson Airplane)

aged: 76

cause of death: not specified
GEOFF EMERICK (sound engineer)

aged: 72

cause of death: cardiac arrest

without George Martin and Geoff Emerick revolutionising the recording processes and inventing techniques that artists take for granted
in the music industry a lot of classic albums we know today would probably not sound like they do:

Geoff worked as sound engineer on a range of artists albums/songs from Beatles, Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, Robin Trower, Hollies,
Split Enz. Stealers Wheel, Judy Garland etc etc

"SWAMP ROCK" legend...
aged 75
cause of death: heart attack:

heres the article:

most famous for writing "rainy night in Georgia" and "polk salad annie", also "steamy windows" for Tina Turner...

I know very little of his music and only own a 20 track compilation...

anyway, heres his signature tune:

^ Rest peacefully Brother Tony ! I have always loved that song !

C.O.D: Cardiac Arrest

one of the most influential musicians from the UK has just dies, lead vocals/writer/guitar with punk band Buzzcocks,
was also a successful solo artist in the UK...I always thought of his solo work to be very similar to that of Peter Gabriel...
I wasn't a big fan of Buzzcocks but did like several of their singles, unfortunately, I never bought any...
I do have a couple of his solo albums on vinyl though...

heres the article:

his biggest solo hit:
