Clever man. As tragic as death is, I can't help feeling that it will be a relief of sorts for him. It must be hell to be trapped in your own body like that. Still, look what he has achieved. A remarkable man by all accounts. There's a lesson there for humanity. RIP.

The amazing thing is he died on the 30th Anniversary of Pi day and also Albert Einstein's birthday. Strange world we live in.

a scriptwriter couldn't have written a more apt script for his death if he tried!

^There’s another one a bit like that – Samuel Langhorne Clemens, aka Mark Twain. He was born in 1935, shortly after Halley’s Comet made its appearance. He said he was ‘born with the comet and would go out with it too’, or something to that effect. He died in 1910, the day after its return.
As to Stephen J Hawking - I have read “A Brief History of Time”. Well – I’ve seen the words … comprehended them? Nope - not a lot! Occasionally a vague glimmer of understanding would flit across the ol’ cerebral cortex, but then vanish into the fog before being properly pinned down … he wrote it for non-rocket scientists too!!
R.I.P. to a brave and unusual human being who despite having every reason to bemoan his fate, did the exact opposite. Puts a few things in perspective.
We are stardust, we are golden, we are billion year old carbon,
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

Rest in peace Brother Stephen ! I was going to tackle Brief History of Time but if Ruby didn't understand a lot of it I think I'll pass ! I presumed I wouldn't be able to get through the book.
