ELTON JOHN "goodbye yellow brick road" cd,1973.
another el-cheapo from the discount bin last week, well its another one i am playing out of purchase order but after that Jet album i needed to know i was going to hear something i knew was good to restore my equalibrium this afternoon...its so good to hear this one on cd instead of dusty vinyl...well worth the investment and upgrade IMO!
this is the Elton album that all others are judged by, spent forever in the UK and Aust charts, and a fair while in the US charts also and spawned a handful of hit singles over a period of 18 months back in the day...
various styles ranging from the beautiful ballad "candle in the wind"(not that crappy thing he re-wrote for that stupid Diana person!) through to the rip roaring rock n roll of "saturday night's alright for fighting".
a very, very good double album overall, a couple of tracks i dont like, but isnt that the case with double albums in general..?
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
too many tracks to list and get links for, but 7 loves,7 likes and three dislikes(as listed here)..."this song has no title", "grey seal" & "dirty little girl".
