JOHNNY BURNETTE "25 greatest hits" cd,1998
career stats:
studio albums: 4
singles: 31
xmas giftcard purchase #whatever.
i was never a big fan of Burnette, but my dad was/is so i decided to get a compilation of his singles.
this guy really only had a handful of hits outside the US, and really, not many more than that in the US.
the five i knew prior to purchasing this album as still ok, theyre not 'rock classics' by any means though...
there were a hell of a lot of other artists from that late 1950s,early 1960s period that were better.
singles like "clown shoes","big big world","youre sixteen","dreamin'" and "little boy sad" arent bad.
all up, this is a piece of crap, i guess an early death elevates an artist to legendary status even when theyre nowhere near that level when they are living, and this one proves it!
so,
twenty-five tracks on here, nine i like, the rest, well, i dont care if i never hear them again!
rating: 1.4
