...and Glee, apparently??!!!

ive noticed with Glee that sometimes when they release a cover of an old song that the original makes a comeback in the lower reaches of the charts via itunes downloads, so i guess these things do serve their purpose...but they are not for me.

True but I've gotten my kids to appreciate some music through the power of Guitar Hero! People just don't listen to the radio much anymore and MTV is a joke. The only way to hear good music is to seek it out. I try to have music on and around my kids. I even put on the pop stuff that I hate just to get them interested. I am proud to say that they now like Mumford and Sons, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, Foster the People and older stuff like Michael Jackson. My sons chorus teacher had them sing Little Lion Man by Mumford and Sons, with the lyrics slightly altered. I loved it.

I wish I had better exposure to music at school in my day! We didn't learn how to play instruments , just singing in school choirs...sometimes I'd just lip synch...lol...I figured what's the difference in a 12 member choir!...lol..I was mocking the songs we had to sing.

My grandson (7 years old) is learning guitar at school!!!!!...the younger the better for absorbing music and how to play an instrument.
The ultimate connection is between a performer and its' audience!

I'm right there with ya and wish I had better exposure to music when I was younger.
