The Blues is taking me over! - Manalishi - 13-07-2008 I've found this forum and hope that there are other out there that love music as much as I do. I was given a Robert Cray record in 1985 and it started a journey that continues today. My greatest love in blues is without doubt the early Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac. I've just got hold of 'Dead Bust Blues' a bootleg album of Peter live in New Orleans in 1970. It's blown me away. I also belong to a local blues club which has introduced me to a raft of new talent including Ian Seigal, Wes Weston, The Spikedrivers and so much more. Enough of me for now, tell me about you lot! Oh, and how do you put a pictures alongside your post? The Blues is taking me over! - Tiggi - 14-07-2008 Hello Green Manalishi, how's your two-pronged crown ?? Welcome to Music Discussion. Firstly, regarding profile pictures, click on the Edit Your Profile button, then click on Edit Avatar, and follow the instructions. I listen to pretty much any genre of music, but predominantly Rock. I like Blues but don't listen to a huge amount of it. Strangely - given your love of Peter Green - I'm just awaiting delivery of the John Mayall album A Hard Road, which features PG on guitar. Hope you enjoy the forum !! The Blues is taking me over! - Manalishi - 19-07-2008 Hi Tiggi, My crown's slipped a bit, but still out there! Thanks for your help. I've got it worked out now. I went to see Robert Cray in Brighton last week. He was great, but his support Marcus Bonfanti was excellent. He looks a bit geeky, but when he sings and plays his guitar, he's brilliant. Check him out on Myspace. I'm not sure about John Mayall, seen him several times, but he's a bit free fall jazzy for me. Try Ian Seigal as well. Writes most of his own stuff and is way up there. 'Sugar Rush' is brilliant. Into rock? What sort of stuff? The Blues is taking me over! - Tiggi - 20-07-2008 Some of my fave stuff: - Pink Floyd - Flaming Lips - The Doors - Radiohead - Grateful Dead - Pixies - King Crimson - Jesus & Mary Chain - Magazine - Neil Young - Echo & The Bunnymen - Nick Cave - Dandy Warhols Not a particularly cohesive list, but that's the music I love. The Blues is taking me over! - Manalishi - 23-07-2008 That crosses lots of boundaries! All great though. Did you watch the documentary on Floyd recently? Also the one about the kids from the wall? Interesting lot, real rock & roll lifestyle. Do you play an instrument? The Blues is taking me over! - Tiggi - 24-07-2008 I think I've seen most of the Floyd documentaries, but haven't seen the one about The Wall kids. Unfortunately the only instrument I play is a CD player !! The Blues is taking me over! - Manalishi - 31-07-2008 Appreciation of music is as much a part of keeping the art alive as playing. Where would players be without listeners? The Blues is taking me over! - Tiggi - 01-08-2008 Amen to that !! The Blues is taking me over! - trbc08 - 01-08-2008 Welcome to the forum!
