Good compilation from one of the UK's premier Blues/Rock bands from the late '60s & early '70s.

Vocalist Paul Rodgers is one of the top UK vocalists in that genre, and the band are pretty sharp, too. Paul Kossoff was no mean guitarist either, but sadly succumbed to substance abuse at a young age.

This album demonstrates the band's huge versatility, and is a delight...

The legend before he was one. Album #3 of a long list. This one never even hit the charts, with 3 singles not cracking the top 50. A later release of this album included a version of Shilo that was a semi-hit, but that's not on mine. Closest thing to a hit was Brooklyn Roads which is also my favorite. Controversial at the time was The Pot Smokers Song. It is actually an anti-pot song, with some stupid chorus by Neil overlayed by spoken testimonials of how pot is a gateway drug. Cute, but I can testify the opposite. Personalities I guess.

Rare outing for this masterpiece.

Whiney angst, but I love the sheer ambition of an album chronicling someone's (Waters') mental disintegration.

Even after all this time, and so many listens, this album still gives me the shivers...

After all these years, Marvin Lee Aday is still trying to make another Bat Out Of Hell, after 33 years, even though we've had two sequels. With that one selling 40 million copies, I don't think that will happen, but most of this was pretty good, with a couple border line great ones for me. No Jim Steinman for this 11th studio album for the meat man, but he does pick up Green Day producer Rob Cavallo. Some nice guest appearances by American Idol's Kara DioGuardi, House's Hugh Laurie, Jack Black, Steve Vai and Brian May.

Still working on the cd's to go with the vinyl. I can't help it. I know I've got 2 eyes, but why do I need 2 sets of lyrics. One in the booklet, one as a foldout. Could've used more album info rather than the lyrics in the booklet. Can't complain about the music though, well, other than those throw away tracks, especially that #9 crap. Not one of my favorite Beatle albums, but considering it's a double album, it'll do in a pinch.

A feast of Funked-up instrumental Rock with Hammond Organ featured heavily.

'60s Stax stalwart Booker T Jones teams up with Drive-By Truckers, and Neil Young to deliver a fabulous album with a total of five guitarists at its' disposal. Predominantly the tracks are originals, but there are a couple of covers.

The guitars sound mostly filthy, and the album has that "live, in the studio" sound that's so effective (don't know if that's how the album was recorded, though).

A cracker...

Instrumental album, so, not my thing, but gotta give the guy some kudos. He can play that thing. Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie guitarist, John William Lowery, out with his 6th solo album. Not playing an instrument, I realize I am not as appreciative of this art as I should be, but I would think players would love this one. Enjoy!
