UK 'singles' chart overview for 15th April 2016:
It's been a long time coming, but Drake has finally hit the Number 1 spot on the Official Singles Chart as a lead artist.Previously hitting the helm of as a guest on Rihanna's What's My Name in 2011, One Dance jumped 20 places from last week, achieving combined sales of 72,000 copies. The track is taken from the rapper's fourth studio album Views from the 6, due to be released on April 29th.
Despite reaching Number 1, One Dance is in fact the tenth most streamed track of the week, due to the fact it was only available on Apple Music for the first half of the sales window. Featuring Wizkid and Kyla, the song is the first Number 1 of 2016 to feature a female - One Dance samples Kyla's 2009 single Do You Mind?.
Drake is the third Canadian artist this year to score a Number 1 single, following Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes. The only other time this has ever happened was in 2014, when DVBBS, Keisza and MAGIC! scored chart toppers.
Elsewhere in the Top 5, Sia sits at Number 2 for a second week with Cheap Thrills, 5,500 units behind Drake. Former Number 1 Mike Posner slips two places to 3 with I Took A Pill In Ibiza, which is once again the most-streamed this week. Fifth Harmony's Work from Home drops one place to Number 4 and Zara Larsson is static at 5 with Lush Life.
[h=4]New Entries and High Climbers[/h]Joe Jonas-fronted DNCE finally reach the Top 10 this week, climbing two places to 9 with Cake by the Ocean. Also on the climb is Meghan Trainor - her track No leaps 12 places to Number 11 following performances on The Voice UK final and The Graham Norton Show.
Blonde and Craig David's Nothing Like This rebounds to Number 15 this week, a new peak following a Number 17 placing three weeks ago. The Chainsmokers' Roses also climbs again this week, hitting a new personal best at 22.
The Voice UK winner Kevin Simm debuts at Number 24 this week with his first solo single, All You Good Friends. The single is his 11th Top 40 entry including his past chart success with Liberty X.
Climbing 19 places to 27 are Years & Years with Desire. The original version peaked at 22, with this new version featuring Tove Lo rocketing to its best position so far. Galantis' No Money also reaches a new high of 29, as does Drake's Pop Style (33).
Finally, AlunaGeorge grab their fourth UK Top 40 single with I'm In Control featuring Popcaan.

UK 'album' chart overview for 15th April 2016:
After a very close battle for Number 1, glory today belongs to The Lumineers, who score their first ever chart-topper.The US folk-rockersâ second album Cleopatra saw off midweek challenges from All Saints and Deftones to take the Number 1 spot just 301 combined sales ahead of nearest rival, Adele.
The trio told OfficialCharts.com: âItâs pretty shocking â we didnât ever think this would happen. We feel really great because it means people are still buying records and theyâre into a whole body of work.â
Meanwhile, Adeleâs 25 rises two places to Number 2, and All Saintsâ comeback album Red Flag goes straight in at Number 3. Itâs the bandâs first appearance in the Official Albums Chart Top 10 since October 2000.
Aled Jonesâs One Voice climbs two places to personal career best at 4, and Deftonesâ Gore is a new entry at Number 5.
[h=4]New entries and high climbers[/h]Scottish indie rockers Frightened Rabbit score their second Top 40 album with Painting Of A Panic Attack, while folk band Bellowhead are new at Number 24 with their Farewell Tour live album.
After a week of live shows at Londonâs O2 Arena for their world tour, Museâs 2015 chart-topper Drones leaps 12 places to Number 26.
Good news for London folk quintet Eliza And The Bear, their self-titled debut goes straight in at 27, and French electronic outfit M83 score a personal best with second album Junk, new at 28.
Catfish and the Bottlemen return to the Top 40 with The Balcony rising 12 spots to Number 33, and Fleetwood Macâs classic album Rumours also makes a reappearance, advancing 17 places to land at 35 today.

A jump of four draws âDonât Let Me Downâ level with â#SELFIEâ (#3 Apr. â14) as The Chainsmokersâ highest peak on the Singles Chart.
Drakesâs âOne Danceâ is up 28 spots from last weekâs debut position. Another track from Drakeâs just-announced Views From The 6 album, âPop Styleâ, has debuted at #44 this week (see below).
Up eleven spots this week, âGirls Likeâ becomes Tinie Tempahâs highest peak on the ARIA Singles Chart. His previous best was with âNot Letting Goâ (#24 Aug. â14).
Having returned to the top 50 last week, Dua Lipaâs âBe The Oneâ moves up 13 spots to claim its highest peak.
After two weeks outside of the top 50, Taylor Swiftâs âNew Romanticsâ re-enters at #39, four spots below its peak.

It features Kanye West and Jay-Z performing under the name The Throne.
#47: Desiigner âPandaâ â American rapper Desiigner picks up his debut ARIA Singles Chart appearance with âPandaâ. The track first gained wide attaneiton when it was sampled by Kanye West for his track âPt. 2â on The Life Of Pablo. Desiigner was subsequently signed to Westâs GOOD Music label.
#49: Nick Jonas Feat. Tove Lo âCloseâ â A year on from charting with âJealousâ (#15 Mar. â15), Nick Jonas makes his second solo appearance on the Singles Chart with âCloseâ. Itâs the first single to be released from Jonasâ forthcoming third solo album, Last Year Was Complicated.

Debuts:
#1: Deftones âGoreâ â American alt-metal band Deftones snare their first #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Gore. The bandâs eighth album is the follow-up to Koi No Yokan (#16 Nov. â12). Their previous best was with White Pony (#2 Jun. â00).
#2: The Lumineers âCleopatraâ â After peaking at #7 with their self-titled debut in April 2013, American folk rock band The Lumineers return with Cleopatra. It becomes the bandâs highest peak.
#11: Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals âCall It What It Isâ â Singer-songwriter Ben Harper reunites with The Innocent Criminals for Call It What It Is. Itâs their first album together since lifeline (#7 Sept. â07). Harper last charted with Childhood Home (#40 May â14), a collaboration with his mother Ellen.
#12: M83 âJunkâ â French electronic band M83 return with Junk, their first album in five years. Itâs their second appearance in the top 50 and highest peak, taking over from Hurry Up, We're Dreaming (#37 Oct. â11).
#44: Zakk Wylde âBook Of Shadows IIâ â Twenty years on from his first solo album Book Of Shadows, American guitar hero Zakk Wylde has gone solo again with Book Of Shadows II. It marks Wyldeâs first ARIA Albums Chart appearance as a solo artist. His band, Black Label Society, last charted with Catacombs Of The Black Vatican (#31 Apr. â14).

Looks like we're not going to be shifting Drake off the dancefloor any time soon â the Canadian rapper holds on to the Number 1 spot this week with One Dance.The track, featuring Wizkid and Kyla, is Drake's first UK chart-topper as lead artist, and scores an impressive 115,000 combined chart sales to claim a second week atop the Official Singles Chart.
It seems like you love listening to it as much as Drake loves throwing a few shapes â One Dance was the most streamed song of the week, notching up almost 7.08 million plays over the last seven days.
At Number 2, Sia and Sean Paul's Cheap Thrills is a non-mover, while Mike Posner's I Took A Pill In Ibiza and Fifth Harmony's Work From Home feat. TY Dolla Sign also both hold firm at 3 and 4 respectively.
Tinie Tempah scores a 13th Top 5, with Girls Like feat. Zara Larsson moving up one to 5.

Congratulations to PJ Harvey, who earns her first Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart with The Hope Six Demolition Project.The singer-songwriterâs ninth studio collection enters straight in at the top, beating her previous best with 1993âs Number 3-peaking Rid Of Me.
PJ Harvey holds off competition from Adeleâs 25, which remains at Number 2 and logs a 22 consecutive week in the Top 5, while Aled Jonesâ One Voice climbs for the third week running, up one place to Number 3.
New at Number 4 is Santanaâs latest album Santana IV. The record is the bandâs first with the full early â70s lineup in 45 years and is their highest-charting since 1999âs chart-topping Supernatural.

Dutch violinist Andre Rieu scores his 12[SUP]th[/SUP] Top 40 album today with Magic Of The Waltz, new at 19, and heavy metal band Disturbed vault 37 places to 28 with Immortalized.

#39: Luke Christopher âLot To Learnâ â American rapper Luke Christopher makes his ARIA Charts debut with âLot To Learnâ. The track comes from Christopherâs 2015 EP TMRW/YSTRDY.
#47: Future & Drake âJumpmanâ â This collaboration between American rapper Future and Canadian rapper Drake comes from their 2015 joint mixtape What A Time To Be Alive. It recently appeared in a commercial for Apple Music featuring Taylor Swift rapping along to the song.
#48: Rihanna âKiss It Betterâ â The second track to hit the top 50 from Rihannaâs album âAntiâ (#5 Feb. â16), following on from âWorkâ (#5 Mar. â16).
#50: DNCE âCake By The Oceanâ â The ARIA Singles Chart debut for American group DNCE. Theyâre lead by former Jonas Brothers member Joe Jonas. âCake By The Oceanâ is the first single from their debut album SWAAY.

American band Disturbed have returned to #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for a second week with their sixth studio album Immortalized. Debuting at #1 in August 2015, the albumâs return to the top spot is thanks to the success of the bandâs cover of the Simon & Garfunkel track âThe Sound Of Silenceâ (#4 Apr. â16).
Three Australian acts have made moves up the top ten this week: Hilltop Hoodsâ Drinking From The Sun, Walking Under Stars Restrung (up four to #7), Rüfüsâ Bloom (up 26 to #5) and Siaâs This Is Acting (up five to #9).

#7: PJ Harvey âThe Hope Six Demolition Projectâ â British singer-songwriter PJ Harvey picks up her second top ten appearance with The Hope Six Demolition Project. Harveyâs first album in five years is the follow-up to Let England Shake (#6 Feb. â11) and was recorded in sessions open to the public as part of an art installation at Somerset House in London called Recording in Progress.
#8: Marina Prior & Mark Vincent âTogetherâ â Soprano Marina Prior and tenor Mark Vincent team up for Together. The duets album features their take on tracks such as âTime To Say Goodbyeâ and âLa Vie En Roseâ. Prior last charted with Candlelight Christmas (#46 Dec. â13), while Vincent was last on the chart with Best So Far (#15 May â14).
#11: Santana âSantana IVâ â Recording for the first time since 1971, the members of the classic line-up of Santana reunite with Santana IV. Itâs the first album released under the Santana name since Guitar Heaven: The Greatest Guitar Classics Of All Time (#5 Sept. â10) and the first by this line-up since Santana III.
#17: Josh Groban âStages (Live) â This live companion to Josh Groban's 2015 album Stages (#2 May â15), debuted at #76 last week. It was recorded at the Los Angeles Theater and features duets with Kelly Clarkson and Tony Award winner Audra McDonald.
#21: Mirusia âThis Time Tomorrowâ â The latest album from Australian soprano Mirusia Louwerse. It features tracks made famous in stage musicals and movies such as âDon't Cry For Me Argentinaâ (Evita), âColours Of The Windâ (Pocahontas), âTomorrowâ (Annie). Her DVD Always & Forever previously spent four weeks at #1 on the ARIA DVD Chart in 2011.
#41: André Rieu, Johann Strauss Orchestra âMagic Of The Waltzâ â A new chart entry from Dutch violinist and conductor André Rieu. Magic Of The Waltz features âWindsor Waltzâ written for the occasion of Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday. Rieu last charted with Roman Holiday (#39 Nov. â15).
#42: Various âEurovision Song Contest Stockholm 2016â â Ahead of 61[SUP]st[/SUP] running of the Eurovision Song Contest, the album featuring all 43 competing songs has hit the top 50 for the first time. The album includes Dami Imâs Australian entry âSound Of Silenceâ.

Prince is set for an Official Chart takeover this week as fans pay tribute to the late music icon.Following his untimely passing last Thursday (April 21), Princeâs classic works have been flooding back in to the Official Albums and Singles Charts.
His 2001 retrospective The Very Best Of is currently leading an all-Prince Top 5, followed by 2006âs Ultimate (2), the Grammy Award-winning official soundtrack to the movie Purple Rain (3), The Hits/The B-Sides (4) and Sign Oâ The Times (5). If Prince maintains this form, The Very Best Of would be Princeâs sixth Number 1 album in the UK.
Another five Prince albums are on course to enter this weekâs Official Albums Chart Top 40: 1999 at Number 18, the Parade soundtrack at 21, Diamonds And Peals at 25, Hitnrun Phase One at 30, and Lovesexy at 39.
A further six of his albums are currently scaling the Top 100, with Around The World In A Day and Dirty Mind just outside the Top 40, at 42 at 46 respectively.
Six of Princeâs classic hits are on course to re-enter the Top 40, led by his signature hit Purple Rain, which is currently at Number 2 behind Drakeâs One Dance. Purple Rain reached Number 8 upon its original release in 1984, meaning the song could hit a new peak on Fridayâs Official Chart.
Other Prince tracks heading for a Top 40 place this Friday are: When Doves Cry (6), Kiss (11), Raspberry Beret (15), 1999 (17) and Little Red Corvette at 26
