geez, i thought you guys were never going to get the answer, i bet youre all kicking yourselves as to how easy and obvious this one was...
as per the clues....
according to Dido she made around 10million dollars from the "thank you" sample on Eminem's "stan", yet only made a quarter of that from sales of the original single.
also, the second clue "this artist is 'no angel'",well, that was the title of her second album,her first one released a couple of years prior to this one sank faster than the Titanic.
