A lovely afternoon watching City dismantle Mourinho's best laid Sunday plans for capturing 3 points at Etihad, then tuning in for the second half of a brazen performance by the USWNT against an overwhelmed Costa Rican squad, though given the clockwork precision of midfield support and high percentage of successfully parlayed goal scoring opportunities, I'm not sure even the Germanys, Chinas, Canadas, or Brazils of this world could've hung within a couple goals of our magnificent women...peace/K

AFL
Fremantle beat Melbourne by 54pts to secure the league title with one round of fixtures to play....
we are now 17 wins and 4 losses for the season....
17 wins in a regular season of 22 matches is a record for the club,as is winning the League Title...
one more round until the finals play-offs...
im expecting the team to rest several players next week for a break before the Finals start.

AFL
Fremantle lost their last qualifying game of the year by 61pts to Port Adelaide....
it wasn't a surprise because they rested 11 of their players for the finals series which starts next weekend....
normally it is against AFL regulations to 'rest' more than three players from a game but because the result of this game
would have no baring on the league ladder they were given permission to do so ie: Port cannot make the finals and Fremantle finish top
of the league regardless of the result....
I don't agree with resting players, I think the best team should be out on the field/ground every week for the following reasons:
1. theyre professional sportsmen who get paid good money to play, thus should play unless theyre injured
2. the fans pay good money to see sports matches and deserve to watch the best game possible at all times.
3. no right minded sportsman wants to sit out and watch the team play, they should want the ball/bat/raquet in their hands all the time!
i'll post the final league ladder when this round is completed tomorrow and also the fixtures for the first week of finals.
