Storm Thorgerson died on this day two years ago (and I think he was important enough to the industry to merit a mention). Can’t believe it’s already two years – I remember hearing the news just yesterday, it seems! Of course, he’s best known for the Led Zep and Pink Floyd album covers, but there many, many more that are interesting too – like this one –

On Air by Alan Parsons

and this one from Muse … Absolution (not a Muse listener but this artwork is distinctive)

and who could resist The Ineffable Mysteries of Shpongleland???!

^One of the tracks is named “No Turn Un-Stoned”, which might explain a lot! :hippie:

The best album cover designer by far. Roger Dean would be a close second but his work had a much narrower focus. And he is essentially a painter whereas Storm was a visionary - in every sense of the word. 'Broken China', 'Wish You Were Here', 'Dark Side of the Moon' & 'Tales of Mystery & Imagination' remain my favourite album covers of all time. The images reflect the music inside.
