Hard copy.
Daughter & mother collaboration of trad Folk music, released in 2010.
Two terrific Folk voices tackle traditional songs from both sides of the Atlantic.
AllMusic 3+/5 stars.

Of course I didn't know the studio version, so I didn't know there was a difference.
On the live, I swear, I think that guy is crying at the end of that song.
have you noticed that?

The man that revived country music for me. I had lost interest due to all the modern country crap, then I heard
Randy. Came away thinking there is hope. Every so many years, shit like that happens. Then you slip back into the
mundane status quo. Anyway, haven't kept up with Randy like I should have. He's probably had some good albums I
have missed. This is his third album and I was hooked with Storms Of Life. Don't think this one measures up to
that, but still a fine album. Two love tracks and nothing I don't like. Went #1 on the country charts and #35
overall. Four singles of Honky Tonk Moon (#1), Deeper Than The Holler (#1), Is It Still Over (#1) and Promises
(#17). The album also got Randy a grammy and three AMA awards. A nice haul I would say.
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
Worst Track - The Blues In Black And White
Best Track - Old 8 X 10
well know it ain't much
but it's all that i have since she's gone
one black and white mem'ry
of the only love i've ever known
one moment in time
when we were together
a page from the past
to haunt me forever
a constant reminder that hearts heal much slower than bones
chorus:
now my whole world's in one 8x10
with 4 metal walls holding it in
through one plate glass window
'neath a blanket of dust
stands an 8x10 picture of us
i wish i'd have told her what i felt inside
back when her sweet love was growing like wine
i wish she'd come back and love me again
the way that she loved me in that old 8x10
now the silence i deaf'ning
as the date turns to dark
her presence gets stronger with each beat of my heart
i pretned that she's here
and we've made a new start
and for a moment
she's back in my arms
(chorus)
there's an 8x10 picture of us

Not a great Country music fan but I was listening to John Denver this morning for a change. The guy was quite incredible.

some of John's music is country related, but for the most part i think he would just be more "easy listening"...for want of a better phrase.
