remake of Pointer Sisters Slow Hand went to #1
don't care for that or most of this
he still had some country in him but chose the Kenny Rogers path
a label switch probably had something to do with that

his 7th and his 5th consecutive #1 Country
the Texas swing was making a smooth transition
to being a savior of country music
the album yielded 3 #1's

George Strait helped boost his career by coming to our Azalea Festival.
He was not well known back then but he showed up here several times. Didn't cost me a dime.
At least I can say I saw him in person.
