âHangtown Ballâ from progressive bluegrass (or ânewgrassâ) band Railroad Earthâs 2014 release, The Last of the Outlaws. A very listenable album IMHO â the lead singer has moments of Bobness! Iâd have posted the title track or âTake a Bowâ, but there are no clips available on Youtube with decent sound quality.

Little Feat were an extremely enjoyable band for me! Their blend of southern rock, blues and tinges of jazz appealed to me. Leader Lowell George left us too early at age 34!

SteveO, your mention of sheer raw power made me think of Kansas - in particular âCarry On Wayward Sonâ. The Best of Kansas, with that track as the opener, must be one of the greatest compilation albums ever devised. I listened to it today for the umpteenth time. Whoever put it together did a brilliant job.

To Record Only Water for Ten Days is an interesting concept in itself, not to mention a being a really cool album title. Add to that the strangely charismatic pull of John Frusciante, and itâs a recipe for some very alternatively satisfying stuff. A record that represents honestly raw naked feeling, it seems to me. Elton John's tenth studio album already and it's only 1975. Somewhat lesser known Rock of the Westies, with Island Girl as the memorable single, Ray Cooper does a magnificent job as usual on percussions and vibraphone! I chose Street Kids , a hard rocker from Mr. John!
