PAUL KELLY & THE STORMWAER BOYS "foggy highway" cd, 2005

career stats:
studio albums........22
singles..................53

this album..................#22 AU

Paul's eighteenth studio set....
music is rooted firmly in the folk/country genre here....
some new songs here, others are reworkings of earlier material to fit the genre...
over the years he has reworked a lot of his songs from rock/alt to country and also the other way,
and for some strange reason they always seem to work both ways, sign of a good songwriter maybe???
one track on here where he duets with Kase Chambers, would have thought this would have been a great track
but it was a bit of a let down...
MH, youll love my favourite track mate.
a very good album if youre a Kelly fan...

I LIKE THIS ALBUM

worst track: they thought I was asleep
best track: stumbling block

And their tribute song Emmylou is awesome as well

i will on occasion listen to something other post on the forum that I am not familiar with and this is one of those occasions...
the above track was so good I went to Spotify and listened to the whole album....
theres only one word to describe it....SUPERB!
I love the vocals and harmonies between the two female singers,
the music is a fine blend of country and folk IMO....

see MFS, you found out things you didn't know about Dexy's Midnight Runners a few days ago, and I have now found/discovered First Aid Kit,
this is a perfect example of the whole point to a music forum...
its not to bignote yourself about how extensive your music collection is or how much you know about artists, its about passing on music to others
and at some point, hopefully, discovering more music you were unaware of from other members.

I have now put the above album on my ever growing list of albums to purchase, thanks mate!

CH - agree on the purpose of communities like this one, it's a great resource for people like us...
And if not found yet, give a go at My Silver Lining - as in most of their songs are beautful... And in this clip the song 'Master pretender' is accompanied by some great artistic video graphics...

Stevie - Missed your post, and I know now they are from here, but I guess they are more recognised and appreciated in other countries

MH - Why don't you share it with us Smile
