Weekly music charts for 2016 - CRAZY-HORSE - 21-05-2016
ive just noticed that the UK charts no have a "progressive albums" chart...
looks like its pretty new because nothing has been on that chart longer than seven weeks
and a lot of the albums on that chart have been released or some time now

Still, I find it somewhat oxymoronic to talk of a popularity chart for prorgessive music. Seems contrary to the whole progressive ethos.

Running my eye down the list, I jumped when I saw the graphic next to "4.5" by Steven Wilson. That is NOT the cover of the album! (Which in any case is entitled "4 1/2", not "4.5".) Some very dodgy webpage editing is going on here. I wonder how many people will click on "Buy" to buy the album and wind up ordering "The little 5-Chord Songbook"?

ive also noticed of late, the amount of music videos that contain some sort of ballet type movements in slow motion and rolling round on the floor

Drake may only be asking for One Dance, but it's a long one â he doesn't show much sign of leaving the dancefloor any time soon.
The Canadian rapper has notched up 92,500 combined chart sales to score an impressive seventh consecutive week at the top, giving him the longest run of 2016 so far.
One Dance also claims the longest straight stint at Number 1 since Leona Lewis's Bleeding Love also enjoyed a seven-week reign atop the Official Singles Chart in autumn 2007.
Drake's One Dance, feat. Wizkid and Kyla, was the most streamed track of the last seven days too, racking up almost 6.68 million plays this week.
Despite a close battle earlier in the week, Justin Timberlake's Can't Stop The Feeling remains at 2, while Calvin Harris and Rihanna's This Is What You Came For (3) and Sia's Cheap Thrills (4) are also non-movers.
No Money, from Swedish electro pop duo Galantis, rises one place to break into the Top 5 for the first time.
[h=4]New entries and high climbers[/h]US singer Gnash makes a big leap â his breakthrough song I Hate U, I Love U zooms 21 places to Number 12 â while Cheat Codes and Kris Kross Amsterdam advance ten spots to Number 20 with Sex.
Take That score a 27th Top 40 hit thanks to their guest spot on Sigma's Cry, new at Number 21, and Australian trio Cookinâ On 3 Burners team up with French producer Kungs on This Girl, which rockets 62 places to land at Number 29.
Craig David's One More Time is brand new at 30, and following her mesmerising performance at the Billboard Music Awards, Pink's Just Like Fire returns to the Top 40, rising eight to 36.

Itâs third time lucky for Ariana Grande, who finally achieves her first Official Albums Chart Number 1 with Dangerous Woman.
The album, which features collaborations with Lil Wayne, Macy Gray and Nicki Minaj, reached the top spot just 600 combined chart sales ahead of her nearest rival, Drake's Views.
Last week's Number 1 from the Canadian rapper was the most streamed collection of the last seven days, garnering over 11,000 sales-equivalent streams.
New in at Number 3 is Richard Ashcroft, with fifth studio album These People, making it his fourth Top 5 as a solo artist. He previously scored two Top 5 albums as frontman of The Verve.
This week's Number 4 is Beyoncé's Lemonade and Bob Dylan is new at Number 5 with his 37th studio album Fallen Angels. The album is also Bob's 37th Top 10.
[h=4]New entries and high climbers[/h]Narrowly behind Bob Dylan is Eric Clapton with his twenty-third studio album I Still Do (6) and Coldplay rebound 8 places to Number 8 with A Head Full Of Dreams.
Further down the chart, Against the Current hit 28 with their debut album In My Bones and there are five new entries and re-entries sitting back-to-back:
Bruce Foxton secures his first Top 40 album with Smash the Clock (31), a remastered version of David Bowie's Changesonebowie compilation debuts at 32 and Manic Street Preachers' reissued Everything Must Go is at 33.
Bob Dylan's The Very Best Of re-enters at 34 and Lonely the Brave's Things Will Matter begins at 35, marking their second Top 40 album.
Bon Jovi's Greatest Hits also makes a reappearance in the Top 40, rising eight spots to Number 39.

Week four at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart for Drakeâs âOne Danceâ. The rapperâs collaboration with Rihanna, âToo Goodâ, has moved up 16 spots to #22 after debuting last week at #38.
With his second album, Skin, likely for a big chart debut next week, Flumeâs âSay Itâ has moved up three spots to pick up a new peak at #6. Former #1 âNever Be Like Youâ is back up to #23.
In its fifth week in the top 50, a jump of 12 spots has put DNCEâs âCake By The Oceanâ into the top ten for the first time. The track has also charted in the top ten in a number of other territories including the US and UK.
After dropping back three spots last week, Topicâs âHomeâ has jumped up twelve spots this week to pick up a new peak at #11.
This week also sees moves up the chart for Meghan Trainorâs âMe Tooâ (up six to #12), Ariana Grandeâs âDangerous Womanâ (up 12 to #21), Little Mixâs âHairâ (up 11 to #34) and Cheat Codesâ âSexâ (up 13 to #36).
