Adrian Gurvitz was born on this day in 1949, in North London, England. Not familiar with the Baker Gurvitz Army's catalogue myself but have stumbled across him before due to his association with Graeme Edge. He also wrote and released the soft rock classic, "Classic"! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdIC3mVT3Ww
He is a well regarded guitarist, deeply entrenched in the biz (started young - his father was the tour manager for Cliff Richard and the Shadows, and The Kinks). Not too shabby in the vocals department either. He and his brother Paul have played together on various albums - their debut as The Gun was titled Gun which is noteworthy as it was the first ever album cover by Roger Dean - formed when Adrian was around 18 years of age. This is the better known chart topping track, "Race with the Devil" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loD5GB2dOVc, but I prefer the less shreddy "Rat Race" ...
And from Adrian's stint with Graeme Edge - actually I think Paul is here too ...
