Early Prince protege and he does it well. Has previous albums with The Time. This is his second solo album. Not as good as his debut from what I remember. This one just misses the like mark. Fishnet was the single off of here which featured the previously mentioned Time. It made it to #24 pop/#1 r&b here, and the album at #41 pop/#7 r&b. The Time are also on Love Is A Game. I prefer the title track to Fishnet, but its a close call. Sounds more Prince funk I guess. After viewing what I'm posting here for those 2 songs, the video for Fishnet makes it work. But my lisyening grades are not based on videos, so Daydreaming still wins, lol. I see allmusic shows 9 tracks on this album. Only 8 on mine. Standing On The Line is missing from my album. wtf? I feel cheated. One more good track would have carried it to a like status.
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

EMINEM "recovery" 2010, cd. #1US,#1UK,#1Aust.
Eminem's first album back after recovering from prescription drug addiction and his best since "the eminem show".
this album is his first not to be totally produced by Dr.Dre and i think it adds a bit more variety that way.
Eminem has matured into a thoughtful, intelligent rapper with this one, sure, his lyrics are still full of witty rhymes and some foul language, but gone are the constant rants about his mother and ex-wife, this one is more mature, and justifiably so as he is in his late thirties now, his lyrical content reflects where he is in his life 'now'...an ex-user on the road to normality with a touch of self reflection on his early years.
dont expect any 'real slim shady' tracks here because you will be dissapointed.
Lil Wayne, Rihanna and Pink all earn a guernsey on this one. of course there are several dud tracks here as with all his albums but there is also a lot of classic tracks.its strange that the 'untitled' track at the end of the album is left as being 'untitled' as it is one of the strongest tracks, maybe it should have been swapped with the opening track, which incidently is the worst track.
most of the songs deal with his overdose, rehabilitation and daily struggles to 'stay clean' which may sound boring to a lot of people, but to me, one who has had trouble with valium addiction and lost his marraige because of it, it is an expressive album of the trials i have been through, thus, i probably can relate to this album on a different level than a lot of people.
the most interesting song on the album is "25 to life" in which Eminem describes how the rap industry turned their back on him when he was at his lowest point after using him when they wanted him, in which he lyrically equates it to being used in a marraige, but its not till the end of the track that you realise that he is rapping about the industry and not his ex-wife...very clever!!!
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 03-04-2011
Although I totally love those first 2 albums, I lost interest for some reason.
To be honest, I think it's just the in your face attitude, as with most rappers.
Just moved on I guess.
Gotta be the best white rapper I have ever heard.
Not gonna knock the guy, as I recognize his skill.
May resume my interest someday.

PLAN B "the defamation of strickland banks" 2010, cd. #1 UK.
a concept album about a white rapper from London convicted of a crime he did not commit...recorded by a white UK rapper, however on this one the music is more about soul music with only the odd hint of rapping.
Plan B has quite a good falsetto soul voice throughout this album, and for a white guy he aint too bad in his raps, what i mean is...he is listenable in his raps...but not anywhere near as good as our favourite Detroit rapper Eminem.
all the songs on here, bar one, are good track IMO, being a conceptual album the album is best listened to in one single airing, i have tried listening to individual tracks and it doesnt work that well...unlike The Wall.
i didnt really like this guy much till he performed a medley of tracks at the Brits in February where he really walked the walk.
avoid watching this guy in interviews at all costs..he sucks big time.

What Are You Listening To? - Tiggi - 11-04-2011
^ I really liked the She Said single when it got some heavy UK airplay a while back, but haven't heard much from him since. This album is on the radar, and your review has probably tipped this over into the investigate list.
