I read over on youtube that this dude said she could not carry a tune with a forklift. Actually thought it was funny!! The use of "Autotune " in records - CRAZY-HORSE - 07-04-2014 back to autotune... i was thinking about it today... its purpose is to alter voices/tones etc right???? well voice altering in songs has been going on since the late 1950s... Buddy Holly was the first to experiment by double/triple-tracking his vocals to give himself a 'fuller' sound. the The Beatles did it to great effect(especially Lennon who once said in the 1970s that he didnt like his own voice and tried to disguise it anyway he could) artists then took the vocorder to do the same thing so i guess what they call Autotune is the next step in the evolution of vocal distortion/change in music... much the same as synthesisers have over the last 50yrs... Depeche Mode used to bang on tincans, hit things with hammers etc etc, feed the sounds into a computer and alter them to sound like instruments which is how they got their unique sounds in the early 1980s... to play live they used to pre tape the sounds and use them alongside their instruments... i also did a bit of research on the topic when i finished work today... the only two artists recording today that have not used autotune are.....Norah Jones and Bob Dylan.! The use of "Autotune " in records - Wim1958 - 07-04-2014 How i love my old Bob ha ha !! The use of "Autotune " in records - CRAZY-HORSE - 08-04-2014 yeh im pretty sure Bob Dylan uses "anti-autotune" as autotune simply couldnt do anything for his voice LMAO, and yes, i am a fan of His Bob-ness!
