Here we go - CRAZY-HORSE - 26-09-2014 no problem J-Man...i just thought it was strange no one posted a reply considering the fans of PF that are here... BTW....i really like the album cover, its abstract but not abstract enough as to confuse the concept of the album... i know its basically an instrumental album but im looking foreward to actually hearing it if only for the fact a lot of it comes from The Division Bell sessions. It's just a marketing trick but it works. Unfortunately!thanks guys, now I'm totally confused what does that have to do with releasing a single? To be quite honest I am not expecting anything earth-shattering from the new album. I think it's going to be polished up jamming sessions - I hope I am wrong. Most importantly I hope it features a lot of Rick's playing. He was the most musical one in the band by far. Dave is a great guitarist but not really a composer of note, Roger was the ideas man - the conceptualist and the lyricist, Rick the true musician in the band (he understood harmony better than the others in the band - listen to his solo albums) and Nick was an average drummer but a very clever marketing man - a lot of the effects on PF albums come from him. Their strength was always the combination of these elements - the whole was indeed greater than the sum of the parts. And of course they took the time to package their concepts to perfection. Storm was a genius. But let's not forget they also produced some awful crap as well. (Anything pre-Meddle IMO) Here we go - SteveO - 27-09-2014 I know I will enjoy the album as I love Gilmour's guitar sound, very distinctive and a joy to listen to! Here we go - CRAZY-HORSE - 27-09-2014 lol...you enjoy Daft Punk so anything goes mate. Here we go - CRAZY-HORSE - 27-09-2014 BTW SteveO...how are you enjoying the Daft Punk album? c'mon man, were in need of a critique of it on MD Here we go - SteveO - 27-09-2014 You missed it man! I did a rave review months ago!!!!! mile:

I looked but couldn't find here news of Mr. Gilmour's new album-in-progress. This following may just be rumor but this blogger seems pretty savvy: http://coolalbumreview.com/?p=35003 << David Crosby and Graham Nash's involvement guarantees vocals...and look how relaxed are the singers in the photo. I am pumped. If anybody needs reminding how bad a cat Mr. Gilmour is: http://www.allmusic.com/artist/david-gilmour-mn0000582930/biography Another thing: He's deep in genuine charitable work, without bragging--he sold a London home for $6 Million, gave it all away and yet you never heard word 1 about that. The definition of a gentleman. Here we go - Jerome - 28-10-2014 The Gilmour 'solo' album that was being mentioned in the media was in fact 'The Endless River' that is being released next month. They were trying to disguise the fact that they were working on a new PF album until they were sure they had a reasonable body of work put together. I recall articles appearing just before AMLOR was release that there were scuba divers with hydrophones trying to record what they were doing on Mr Gilmour's houseboat. Probably urban legend but you never know what humans will get up to......nevertheless they remain, for me, the single most innovative and creative band in the world, with or without Waters, Barrett or Wright. Sad to realise that this is indeed 'the final cut'. An era comes to an end but the legacy will survive. The music is just too damn good to ever be forgotten. |
