Prog Archives, the biggest progressive rock site, has a subforum for Unsigned Bands (within their Progressive Music Lounges).

There is a posting criteria, such as a professionally recorded commercial product of at least the length of an EP (mp3s for sale), along with a biography and links. You would satisfy this easily Jerome. There is a certain amount of emphasis on genre and 'progginess', presumably because if it isn't progressive, they'll remove the post. Again, there is no question of your 'progginess'!
John Peel once made a comment about bands he thought should have a recording contract, when there were many who'd had one for far too long!

Obviously I can't speak for everyone, but I've got no problem seeing this thread bumped. The fact that you took the time to make this music and then put it out there is awesome. Plus, the music itself is awesome. There's really only so many times we can rehash the same sorts of discussions over music of times gone by. Not only is this a fresh topic, its one about a friend who I'd love to see succeed with this music, and who can give neat little insight into the work. I definitely always check this topic when I see it bumped up.
I didn't quote the 2nd post due to length, but I really appreciated being able to read your thought process for Into Imagined Lands. Thank you for taking the time. If this is only a sampler, I can't wait to see some of the other (hopefully forthcoming) projects.
As for the physical copy of the CD, keep us (or at least me) posted on the status of it. I might be moving later in the year depending on where/if I get employed, so as we get closer to the physical album being released, I'll get in touch with you about where to send it + where I should send the money.

Recently, I have heard some albums which, although made by excellent musicians, tend to over-rely on signature sounds from other bands. Jerome has avoided this, by ensuring the lion's share of the ideas are his own. The 'echoes' for example are a nice little touch, rather than an irritation, and the exotic parts make it original. There is a good deal of experimentation with the synthesizer sounds here, which one does not hear much these days. Perhaps being from the southern hemisphere, Jerome has been less inclined to use British and Americanisms.
Some questions: what are the instruments and have you played this material live to an audience? If the answer is 'no' to the latter, you should! Also, it definitely deserves a wider audiece. I have never posted on YouTube, but have you thought of doing so? Lastly, there is a magazine in the UK called Fireworks, which write predominantly positive reviews and, as well as detailing the big names, champion unsigned artists. It might be worth sending them a CD or mp3s. They are not underground and have a wide readership.
Just to answer some of Big ear's questions. I will list the instrumentation once I post the description of the individual tracks (something I still have to get around to). As for playing live - no - it would cost too much and be too complicated to set up. I am not a performing musician - just a hobbyist. In fact I have never seen the inside of a professional studio to date. This has all been done in my 'project' studio at home with contributions from various session musicians who have recorded their parts in various studios/countries around the globe. An internet album for want of a better explanation. As far as YouTube is concerned, I will need to come up with a decent video/visual accompaniment in order for it to be effective. I am a normal working stiff - there's no budget for high-end production/marketing etc. There are bills to pay..............

Hopefully law. I'm in my last year of law school and would like to go into criminal litigation (the type of lawyers you see on Law and Order and stuff), but we'll see if anyone hires me in this economy.

What sorta visuals are you looking for? I know a couple people who like to mess around with artsy stuff, especially on the computer. I might be able to convince one to help out on a video or two of sorts.

The economy is improving though slowly. Private criminal litigation is one strong path but please remember that Public Defenders do important work too and there are such as the projects looking into past wrongful convictions, especially death penalty cases. Lawyers have the highest suicide rate of any profession but I don't expect you'll travel this path. Best wishes.
