4 Grammys to his credit but still a "Local Hero"--plays Florida/ \Georgia principally. His show is the total package and totally pro. A song or 2 doesn't do it--to capture the experience, here's a 50 minute show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SR-x7sIUjVI << High-energy rock/funk/soul/WhatYouWill at the highest level.
I know what I said but I couldn't resist this piece: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRI8SMOAXKw <<Piano, bass, vocal, tambourine and that futuristic device from the '70's, the Vocoder

Keying on Ron Weinstock's blog entry brings Whop Frazier. He played Blues and R&B in the Washington, D.C. area for 55 + years (going on the road at 17) in all R&B/Blues/Gospel styles. He always "brought it" in fine style and usually had bigger names sitting in. An institution. An obit/appreciation (he died in 2011): http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/blogs/artsdesk/music/2012/01/06/william-whop-frazier-1943-2011/ The blog entry: http://inabluemood.blogspot.com/2012/01/whop-frazier-how-bluesy-can-you-get.html No Amazon, wiki or AMG info available.

SteveO Wrote:My kinda blues! Truthful and forthright!True that but with 6 CDs in 15 years and a national presence, I'd hardly call Daddy Mack a "Local Hero".
