pop/jazz orchestral music of the '40's-'60's - jazzboCR - 26-01-2015

When it comes to Latin big band jazz, nobody did it and does it better than Larry Harlow, a Jewish man in NYC. Employed the best players of his era and kept thousands of dancers on the floor. He was part of the conception of the nuyorican Latin jazz/pop movement--taking Latin rhythms and putting a more frantic Big City edge on them. His Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Harlow_(musician) His Site (he's still with us--he might answer your mail): http://www.larryharlow.com/ << a bit stale but you never know...His Discog: http://www.allmusic.com/artist/larry-harlow-mn0000129414/discography << recordings from '67--'03 and they never failed to excite but you might start with his '08 Greatest Hits compilation.
