Jay-Z is the best rapper alive. That American Gangster Album really pushed him to number one for me. I heard a lot of his stuff growing up but really got it when I listened to that.

Number 1:- He raps good, freestyles brilliantly
Number 2:- He looks cool, energetic and pessimistic all at the same time!
Number 3:- His history is inspiring. Points should be given to him for his constant struggles for making it this BIG.

I love Eminem.
His rapping is so unconventional in that his voice and cadence is strictly Caucasian, pretty much. Also that he doesn't give a flying f*ck about what anyone else thinks. AT ALL. And his vulgar (AND AWESOME) lyrics display this mindset.
Also I personally think his lyrics are genius and effective. They really get his point across.
