Can I suggest one slight change : in answer to the uncertainty about world music could I suggest that we use the term New Age .......This term has come in and out of fashion over the last 20 years or so but it still has quite a strong following. Its range has encompassed world music, new classical music, acoustic guitar , , some forms of folk and so on, it has in its champions people like Rick Wakeman , Enya , Terry and Mike Oldfield and is the basis of many film and TV choices of soundtrack.............

With renovations completed, what will happen to all the existing threads? Will they have to be separated by hand, or will they just disappear?

They will remain but be transffered into the most revelant forum. May have to manually transfer the odd thread from time to time when completed.

Good input, peoples...

Keep the ideas coming, and argue with each other (in a mature, friendly manner, of course). The more this gets thrashed out, the better the result should be.

Any members that haven't yet voiced an opinion, get on with it...

Ended up with 11, sorry

As far as the descriptions underneath, instead of the quotes we have now, I would rather see a list of 5-10 artists that fit in each genre, maybe rotating those periodically. Of course those would raise controversy.

i like this list, mainly because it gives scope for music that wouldn't normally be covered-like stage music.....those of you who haven't listened to wicked shame on you just about covers it:wink:
