Week Eleven Review: ...............She and Him Volume Two - Music Head - 17-04-2010
1) Thieves - 3.0 - nothing bad here. Just beautiful music and vocals
2) In The Sun - 2.0 - didn't like these background vocals, but She is hot
3) Don't Look Back - 2.0 - really nice strings
4) Ridin' In My Car - 2.0 - Finally get to hear some Him. Not as hot as She, but really warm.
5) Lingering Still - 3.0 - just dreamy
6) Me And You - 1.5 - Like the steel guitar and She, who is carrying this, but the da-da-da background is annoying
7) Gonna Get Along Without You Now - 1.5 - didn't like this Teresa Brewer remake, better know by me for the Skeeter Davis excellent version.
8) Home - 1.0 - This is all over with tempo changes, and once again the meaningless syllables as background vocals are stupid
9) I'm Gonna Make It Better - 1.5 - too much guitar
10) Sing - 2.0 - pretty, but that ending ba-da-dum brings it down a notch
11) Over It Over Again - 1.0 - worst yet from the "sock it to you" on
12) Brand New Shoes - 1.5 - Much too simple with only the acoustic guitar. Became bland fast
13) If You Can't Sleep - 1.5 - no instruments here, but She just sweeps you away, even the intake of breath.
Shouldn't this just be called She? Really not much Him there. Not vocally anyway, and if you're going to include musicians, shouldn't it be She & Him and Other People?
Pretty decent album with an average rating of 1.8, meaning it will go on my buy list.
