UK General Election - gryphon - 29-04-2010 Here I think is the rub For quite a while Gordon's behind the scenes behavior seems to have been called into question...the main point being, that he seems to have no regard for the people of Britain and their opinions.............He is an unelected leader of the UK ( He has not won a mandate ......he simply followed on when Tony Blair finished) He has been accused by close staff of being Bull headed and having a contempt for other people's opinions ..................In the early days of the Labour government of Tony Blair , Blair suggested that Gordon had to be handled carefully because he could be demeaning of others ............now by rather dubious method ( Sky are supporters of the Conservatives ) someone has finally produced what looks like proof that these people were right and that he is someone who very intolerant of other people's views.............the very people he is suppose to represent eg the dyed in the wool Labour voters.............. he looks down on their opinions and knows better..............and the words that proved that came from his own mouth behind someones back
UK General Election - kerry101 - 01-05-2010 gryphon Wrote:Here I think is the rub I think that hits the nail on the head. the prime Minister is supposed to represent the people, and do the best for the country, and labour in particular, seem to view it as one big ego trip and not actually take on board that it is the people that count, not themselves. The credit crunch was going to happen one way or another as we all know that with a stretch economy, at some point, something has to give. Labour seem to want to up the minimum wage. ok, thats good. but, then Tax more highly anyone earning £20k as they are ritch? ok, well i earn just uinder that, and by the time i have paod my London rent, council tax, water, transport...like pmost people, i don't have alot left over, and i am not one to go and blow my wages on nights out etc. i can't afford to. so it sounds like a bad idea to me. ![]() i am now leaning more towards voting for the conservatives, the reason being the Lib Dems wanting the Euro. which i don't. i have spent the last 27 years of my Blonde life trying to get to grips with the pound
UK General Election - pennywill - 03-05-2010 I like the election in the UK, because Russell Howard's Good News has crazy comments  UK General Election - stay awake - 04-05-2010 I wouldn't vote for any of them.. UK General Election - Emillu - 04-05-2010 I usually feel the same but as I can't abide G brown am going to vote this time! Whilst I am aware that the Ld's want the Euro we are already in Europe and have to put up with some of the ridiculous rules and regulations they impose on us but the Cons are all for the rich people and their monetary returns on investments. Apparently they also want to do away with the yearly fuel allowance that we pensioners get! My vote for Lib Dems is more of a statement than anything. UK General Election - Tiggi - 05-05-2010 I've now digested the three main party manifestos, and have to say that they've only confirmed my original intentions. I shall vote for our Lib Dem parliamentary candidate, but expect her to fall short by a large margin. The commentary still seems to point to a Conservative minority win. I hope this doesn't happen, although it will be interesting to watch the scrabbling for power and bullshit posturing that will ensue... UK General Election - gryphon - 07-05-2010 It looks like a very interesting result but I wonder what will happen next ?:music: traightface:
UK General Election - Music Head - 07-05-2010 lmao live coverage on cspan of Nick Cleggs car movenent. Having OJ Simpson flashbacks Coalition anyone? UK General Election - Tiggi - 07-05-2010 Oh dear !! Locally, my horse lost, despite a 2.6% swing in the right direction. She was second by 10,122 votes. Whatever happens now nationally, it needs to be right, and fast... UK General Election - kerry101 - 07-05-2010 i voted conservative in the end in the parliamentary election. it will be interesting to see what happens, i am just dreading any possibility that we end up having to stick with Gordon Brown |
