I love record stores, there's two in particular that i enjoy shopping in.
The first one is quite big and always has a large number of afordable CD's while the other one is smaller, a bit more expensive, but it also has the best atmosphere and a large number of old and new LP's.
So i kind of switch between the two acording to how broke i am..lol

My favorite record store is in Marietta, Georgia. It's fantastic! Too bad it's an 8 hour drive.

Don't we all! I miss the old vinyl albums - and even though downloads can be accompanied by lavish animations and videos and God knows what on a band's web page it still does not have the tactile element. It's empty.

Yes I miss the warmth of vinyl also! I recently discovered an artist The Caretaker(James Kirby) from Stockport, England! His recordings are unique in that he uses old 78s and vinyl recordings with that endearing "surface noise" of vinyl. He released an album in 2011 called An Empty Bliss Beyond This World made up of old pre-war parlour and ballroom songs along with his own "modern" touch! It's a great album..very entertaining to listen to!

There is something about the good old vinyl record ,something that mp3s or cds will never have.
