This might surprise you but I actually bought a banjo to play a melodic line on one of my tracks. Realised I could not play the damn thing at all. Got John Zytaruk to do the part and donated the banjo to the local pub where it still lives, and gets played, after copious amounts of alcohol have been consumed.

Paul McCartney is a multi-instrumentalist as you probably know.
the shop that gets him his guitars sent him a Ukulele around twenty years ago, he tried and tried but couldnt get the hang of it, had to take lessons to understand the basics of it LOL
