I love Louis Armstrong, It's almost impossible to dislike this song, so full of warmth and positivity, it always puts a smile on my face when i listen to it.

The "Clifford" they're referencing was Clifford Brown, a monster player who died much, much too young: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPRCH0Qomw4 << his take on Dizzy Gillespie's classic tune.
My personal fave is anything off Charlie Parker with Strings because it legitimized string arrangements in a bop setting. Here's 2 cuts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSIUciuoTIg and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqfJT1K4s1Y

Here's one older, one younger: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3s1YVwGCgik and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDNQIoItdMw

This Thread went quickly to the soft side. OK in it's way but how about Lionel Hampton bashing those mallets?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_rTICMVXQQ Gary Burton getting busy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtJS3IIvnww
