and you're probably right
monitoring the posts is in my job description as a moderator
If I have to look at or listen to, I should be entitled to comment
fact is, when something sucks, someone has to tell the world
might as well be me

Haha i love it.. fair enough response.

Did not know it was in your Job title to tell people their music sucks... I can only hope i will have such a job when i'm older...

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but you can always decide weather you value their thoughts or you think their opinion sucks in itself!

Anyway to both Moderator and Producer, keep up the good work!

Joshpop Wrote:Yeah think the track is well produced, not to keen on the vocal sounds a bit heavy on the melodyne.

Everything else sounds tight and well compressed, always a fan of sidechain compression to get that 'doof doof' (as some people put it) cutting through.

The Roland TR808 (hand clap) was first produced back in 1980 and has been used on many great and successful records..

The only thing i will suggest to @Jerome or @MH is that you don't look through the Electro/Techno/House forum if you clearly don't like or appreciate the hard work and hours aspiring producers put into there work... in this particular genre.

Its like me saying to a new band 'ah hate that country pop song you played, it has the same A/B structure, the same chord progression and the same tone and vocal range we've been hearing for the last 30 years..'

there response:
"ah well.. we choose to use these structures and chord progressions and sing at the range we do.. its because its proven that it sells records and that it makes it easier for us to market our music to the correct audience and the genre of music we are aspiring to develop into..."

Strange analogy but i dunno makes sense to me.

But fairplay everyone is entitled to their own opinion..

But that's exactly why I do look into this section of the forum. I am a big fan of electronic music. But I don't hear anything new in what's coming out. Music, for me, has to breathe. It has to have highs and lows. It has to be an adventure that you go on and you don't know where you are going to end up. To me this music does not do that. I can already hear where it's going the minute it starts so I lose interest. There have been a couple of members who have made me sit up an notice but this is not one of them. As you say, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am just expressing my point of view. If 90% of the forum does not agree with it, that's fine by me. And as someone who dabbles in music from time to time I understand fully how long it takes to produce something. Many have said they don't like the stuff I produce. That's OK too. Some people love it, some people hate it. That's life. When I first heard Jean Michel Jarre's debut electronic suite 'Oxygene', I did not know what to make of it (I had never listened to electronic music prior to this), but I could 'see' that it was something completely unique and cutting edge at the time. The music currently being released by young aspiring 'producers' is not really saying anything new. There are those who are doing just this but they are not on this forum. And if the producers on this forum are achieving success, good luck to them. It's just not for me. And finally everyone has to learn to live with criticism when it comes to artwork of any kind. My hope is that some of these budding producers will start thinking beyond what is current. There is only one true test for music and that is the test of time. Time will tell - it always does.
