The Official Singles Chart is once again drenched in Cold Water this week, as Major Lazer, Justin Bieber and MØ hang on to Number 1 for a fifth consecutive week.It's been a closely run race all week between Cold Water and DJ Snake's Let Me Love You, which also features Justin Bieber. Cold Water shifted just over 71,500 combined chart sales, meaning DJ Snake couldn't charm his way to the top, finishing 1,469 behind to spend a third straight week at Number 2.

Major Lazer's Cold Water drowns out the competition when it comes to streaming too – it's notched up 5.03 million plays to be the most listened to track of the week.
The Chainsmokers edge up one place to 3 with Closer, featuring Halsey, and Calum Scott's cover of Robyn's Dancing On My Own drops one to 4, while Twenty One Pilots' Heathens hits a new chart high, rising two to 5.
[h=4]New entries and climbers[/h]It's a new chart peak for Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez's We Don't Talk Anymore, which leaps nine places to break into the Top 20 for the first time, at 14. Anne-Marie's Alarm has also gone Top 20, up five to 19.
Highest brand new entry this week belongs to Ellie Goulding, with Still Falling For You, from the latest Bridget Jones movie, going in at 25, and Craig David & Sigala are also new at 29 with Ain't Giving Up.
Two tracks break into the Top 40 for the very first time this week: a remix of Is This Love, from Bob Marley feat. Lvndscape and Bolier, is up 3 to 39, while Cheat Codes & Dante Klein rocket 37 slots with Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On) up to 40.

Frank Ocean’s long-awaited new album Blond has lived up to the hype as it enters straight in at Number 1 on this week’s Official Albums Chart.After teasing fans in the months before its release, Ocean finally released his second studio album Blond - listed as Blonde online - last Saturday (August 20), currently exclusive to Apple Music.
Blond debuts at Number 1 with 32,000 combined sales (including 26,000 downloads), almost twice as much as his closest rival Dolly Parton, who lands at 2 with her 43[SUP]rd[/SUP] studio album Pure & Simple. The entry matches her personal chart best achieved by her last release, 2014’s Blue Smoke – The Very Best Of.

Completing an all-new Top 3 in today’s Official Albums Chart is David Brent’s Life On The Road. The soundtrack for the new Ricky Gervais film is recorded entirely by Brent and his band Foregone Conclusion and features 15 tracks, including the previously released Equality Street and latest single Lady Gypsy.
Rounding off this week’s Top 5 are Drake’s Views (4), and Bob Marley retrospective Legend (5).
[h=4]New entries and high climbers[/h]Swedish metal band Sabaton earn their first UK Top 40 album this week with The Last Stand at 17, and Canadian rapper Tory Lanez enters at 20 with his debut album I Told You.
Further down, Irish singer Lisa Hannigan is new at 24 with At Swim, marking her first UK Top 40 album, London indie-rock band Rifles land at 26 with Big Life, and US singer-songwriter Ryley Walker rounds off this week’s new entries with his fourth album Golden Sings That Have Been Sung at 27.

Australian music charts for week ending 27th August 2016:

For the third straight week, ‘Closer’ by The Chainsmokers holds #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The track just hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
A jump of four spots in its third week in the top 50 puts the multi-artist collaboration ‘Sucker For Pain’ into the top ten for the first time. It becomes the second track from Suicide Squad: The Album (#1 Aug. ’16) to hit the top ten, following Twenty One Pilots’ ‘Heathens’ (#4 Aug. ’16).
There are also new peaks this week for Betty Who’s ‘I Love You Always Forever’ (up three to #6), Mike Perry’s ‘The Ocean’ (up three to #11), MØ’s ‘Final Song’ (up two to #15) and Martin Garrix’s ‘In The Name Of Love’ (up ten to #23).
Debuts:
#28: Shawn Mendes ‘Mercy’ – Shawn Mendes’ fourth single to hit the top 50 on the ARIA Charts. ‘Mercy’ is the second single from the Canadian singer-songwriter’s forthcoming second album, Illuminate, following on from this week’s #10, ‘Treat You Better’ (#4 Jul. ’16).
#33: Hailee Steinfeld ‘Starving’ – The second top 50 entry for American singer Hailee Steinfeld. ‘Starving’ is a collaboration with Russian-German DJ Zedd and American duo Grey. Steinfeld previously charted with ‘Haiz EP Feat. Rock Bottom’ (#39 Apr. ’16).
#36: Ellie Goulding ‘Still Falling For You’ – Ellie Goulding picks up a second top 50 entry for 2016 with ‘Still Falling For You’. The track comes from the soundtrack to the new film Bridget Jones's Baby. Goulding peaked at #46 in February with ‘Something In The Way You Move’.
#45: Calum Scott ‘Dancing On My Own’ – The top 50 debut for Brit Calum Scott. Scott first came to attention as a contestant on Britain’s Got Talent in 2015, placing sixth. His debut release is a cover of the track originally recorded by Swedish artist Robyn.

There’s another new #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart this week, with American artist Frank Ocean claiming his first #1 with second album Blonde (see below).
Following the announcement of their Australian tour, Guns N’ Roses have the week’s highest re-entry at #17 with Greatest Hits.
As well as having the #1 this week, Frank Ocean has the week’s second highest re-entry. His debut album channel ORANGE has returned to the top 50 for the second time in three weeks, hitting #19.
There have also been re-entries by INXS’ The Very Best (#22), Fleetwood Mac’s Greatest Hits (#30), David Bowie’s Best Of Bowie (#35) and The Temper Trap’s Thick As Thieves (#41).
Debuts:
#1: Frank Ocean ‘Blonde’ – American singer-songwriter Frank Ocean takes out his first #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Blonde. Ocean’s second studio album is the long-awaited follow-up to channel ORANGE (#9 Feb. ’13). Its release came one day after the release of the video album Endless. Blonde features contributions from Beyoncé, Pharrell, Kendrick Lamar, André 3000, and James Blake, among others.
#3: Ball Park Music ‘Every Night The Same Dream’ – The fourth album from Ball Park Music gives the Brisbane band their third top ten on the ARIA Albums Chart. Every Night The Same Dream is the follow-up to Puddinghead (#2 Apr. ’14). They first hit the top ten with Museum (#9 Oct. ’12).
#4: Drapht ‘Seven Mirrors’ – After topping the chart with The Life Of Riley (#1 Apr. ’11), Drapht returns with Seven Mirrors. The Perth-based rapper’s first album in five years features collaborations with Dune Rats and Hilltop Hoods.
#6: Roy & HG ‘This Sporting Life’ – This double disc set brings together highlights from Roy & HG’s long-running Triple J show, This Sporting Life. The live, improvised, and satirical program aired on the station from 1986 to 2008. The album has been released to mark the show’s 30th anniversary.
#9: Dolly Parton ‘Pure And Simple’ – After scoring her first top ten on the ARIA Albums Chart with Blue Smoke (#7 Feb. ’14), Dolly Parton returns to with Pure And Simple. It’s the country legend’s 43rd solo studio album, having released her debut, Hello, I’m Dolly, in 1967.
#14: John Williamson ‘His Favourite Collection’ – A new compilation of tracks from the career of ARIA Hall Of Famer John Williamson. The four disc set brings together more than 50 of Williamson’s favourite tracks. He charted earlier in the year with Looking For A Story (#32 May ’16).
#29: Sabaton ‘The Last Stand’ – Swedish metal band Sabaton appear in the top 50 for the first time with The Last Stand. The group’s eighth studio album is the follow-up to 2014’s Heroes. They released their debut album, Primo Victoria, in 2005.
#31: David Brent ‘Life On The Road’ – Ricky Gervais revives the character David Brent for the new film Life On The Road. The soundtrack features tracks performed by Brent and his band, Foregone Conclusion. One track, ‘Electricity’, feature’s Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
#37: Tory Lanez ‘I Told You’ – The debut album from Canadian rapper Tory Lanez. Prior to the release of I Told You, Lanez had released an EP and 15 mixtapes between 2009 and 2015.
#39: Lindsey Stirling ‘Brave Enough’ – Lindsey Stirling makes her top 50 debut with Brave Enough. It’s the American violinist’s third studio album and features collaborations with Christina Perri, Zedd and Rivers Cuomo, among others. It’s the follow-up to 2014’s Shatter Me.
#44: EDEN ‘I Think You Think Too Much Of Me’ – EDEN makes his Albums Chart debut with I Think You Think Too Much Of Me. It’s the Irish electronic artist’s second EP, following on from 2015’s End Credits. Former Singles Chart topper Gnash features on the track ‘Fumes’.

UK 'song'/'singles' charts for week ending 2nd Sept 2016:

The Chainsmokers and Halsey have evaporated Major Lazer's Cold Water, securing their first Number 1 single in the UK.Closer - which is already Number 1 in both Australia and the United States - finished the week on 80,000 combined chart sales and was the most purchased track of the week. The single was also the second most streamed entry on the chart.
The Chainsmokers exclusively told OfficialCharts.com: "Well this is awesome 'cause I (Alex) have a lot of family in the UK that don't have a clue what I have been doing for the last 10 years so this will make waves during the holidays this year.

"But in all seriousness this is an amazing achievement for us. We are beyond grateful at all the support from our UK fans and radio stations; as a relatively new artist, it means a lot to us and gives us a lot of confidence in the music we have coming up!"
DJ Snake and Justin Bieber's Let Me Love You holds firm at 2 for the fourth straight week and after five weeks at Number 1, Cold Water from Major Lazer ft. Justin Bieber and MØ drops two spots to Number 3, although it remained the most streamed song from the past seven days.
Rounding out the Top 5 is this summer's biggest selling single Dancing On My Own by Calum Scott, and a non-mover at 5 for twenty one pilots' Heathens.
[h=4]New entries and high climbers[/h]Tieks and Dan Harkna's Sunshine is a high climber of eight places this week, landing at Number 15. Anne-Marie's Alarm rises to a new peak of Number 16, up three places and is closely followed by Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha's In The Name Of Love, which enjoys a seven place boost to Number 17.
The LVNDSCAPE and Bolier remix of Bob Marley's Is This Love is up a whopping nineteen places to this week's Number 20, while Snakehips and Zayn's Cruel is also the recipient of a big leap - it's up seven spots to 34.

Congratulations to Barbra Streisand, who enters straight in at Number 1 on this week’s Official Albums Chart. The music icon's 35th studio album Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway tops this week’s tally with 20,000 combined sales, giving Streisand her seventh Official Number 1 album.
The star is now only second to Madonna (who has notched up 12 Number 1s) when it comes to chart-topping albums in the UK among female solo acts.

Elsewhere, Britney Spears is new at Number 2 with her ninth album Glory. The entry marks a fifth Number 2 album for the superstar, following Baby One More Time (1999), Oops! I Did It Again (2000), Greatest Hits – My Prerogative (2004) and Blackout (2007).
Last week's Number 1 Blonde by Frank Ocean slips to 3, Dolly Parton's Pure & Simple is at 4, and US duo Twenty One Pilots reach a new peak with their latest album Blurryface, jumping six places to Number 5.
[h=4]New entries and high climbers[/h]Biffy Clyro’s former Number 1 album Ellipsis rebounds from 19 to 10 following their headline slot at Reading & Leeds Festivals last weekend, while new indie band The Hunna enter at 13 with their debut album 100.
US hip hop trio De La Soul earn their highest charting album in 25 years this week (since 1991's Number 7-peaking De La Soul Is Dead) with And The Anonymous Nobody (16), Oxford rockers Glass Animals are new at 23 with How To Be A Human Being, and New Model Army secure their sixth Top 40 album with Winter (25).
Finally, two more bands feel the effect from Reading & Leeds Festival this week: Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Greatest Hits re-enters the Top 40 at 31 (up 20 places), and Blink-182’s latest record California vaults from 60 to Number 32.

Australian albums chart for 3rd September 2016:

The thirty-fifth studio album from Barbra Streisand, Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway, has given the legendary artist her second #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, following on from 2014’s Partners.
Following her show-stopping performance at the NTV Video Music Awards, Beyonce has moved back up three spots with former #1 Lemonade.
In its second week in the chart, John Williamson’s His Favourite Collection has picked up a new peak, moving up one spot to #13.
A week on from the re-entry of Greatest Hits, Guns N’ Roses debut album Appetite For Destruction has re-entered the top 50 for the first time since March 1993. It’s at #45.
Debuts:
#1: Barbra Streisand ‘Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway’ – Two years on from snaring her first ARIA #1 album with Partners (#1 Sept. ’14), Barbra Streisand picks up her second with Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway. Streisand’s thirty-fifth studio album features her take on musical classics and features duets with the likes of Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Jamie Foxx and Melissa McCarthy. It’s Barbra Streisand’s third #1 album in Australia, having topped the pre-ARIA charts with 1980’s Guilty.
#4: Britney Spears ‘Glory’ – With her ninth studio album, Britney Spears picks up her first top ten appearance since 2011. Featuring the single ‘Make Me...’ (#39 Jul. ’16), Glory is the follow-up to Britney Jean (#12 Dec. ’13). Spears’ ninth top ten is her first since Femme Fatale (1 Apr. ’11).
#5: Troy Cassar-Daley ‘Things I Carry Around’ – The tenth solo studio album from country singer-songwriter Troy Cassar-Daley. It becomes his third solo top ten entry having previously charted with Home (#9 Mar. ’12) and Freedom Ride (#4 Mar. ’15).
#6: Twelve Foot Ninja ‘Outlier’ – Melbourne band Twelve Foot Ninja make their top 50 debut with Outlier. It’s the fusion metal band’s second studio album. The quintet released their debut, Silent Machine, in 2012.
#7: Florida Georgia Line ‘Dig Your Roots’ – American country duo Florida Georgia Line make their second top 50 appearance on the ARIA Albums Chart and pick up a new peak with Dig Your Roots. The band’s third studio album is the follow on to Anything Goes (#20 Oct. ’14).
#11: Glass Animals ‘How To Be A Human Being’ – British band Glass Animals achieve a new peak on the ARIA Albums Chart with How To Be A Human Being. The quartet’s second album comes just over two years on from their debut, Zaba (#12 Jun. ’14).
#21: Ol' 55 ‘Time To Rock'n'Roll’: The Anthology’ – The career of iconic Sydney band Ol' 55 is compiled on this new two-disc set. Time To Rock'n'Roll: The Anthology features 56 tracks recorded between 1976 and 1981 and has been released to celebrate 40 years since debut album Take It Greasy. It’s the band’s first appearance in the ARIA top 50.
#22: The Delta Riggs ‘Active Galactic’ – Album three from The Delta Riggs gives the Melbourne band their second top 50 appearance on the ARIA Charts. The quartet first charted with Dipz Zebazios (#38 Oct. ’14).
#25: De La Soul ‘And The Anonymous Nobody’ – Hip hop legends De La Soul return with their ninth album And The Anonymous Nobody. It’s their first album to chart in the ARIA top 50 since Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump (#32 Aug. ’00). Their last album prior to And The Anonymous Nobody was 2012’s Plug 1 & Plug 2 Present... First Serve. The new album features guest appearances from David Byrne, Snoop Dogg, Damon Albarn, 2 Chainz and more.
#35: Vince Staples ‘Prima Donna’ – Vince Staples makes his ARIA top 50 debut with EP Prima Donna. It’s the American rapper’s first new release since debut album, Summertime '06, came out in June 2015. Collaborators on Prima Donna include James Blake and A$AP Rocky.
#50: The Viper Creek Band ‘Just Press Play’ – The second album from The Viper Creek Band gives the Newcastle country rock band their first ARIA top 50 appearance. Just press Play is the follow-up to the band’s 2014 debut Kickin' Up Dust.
