The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - Ruby - 12-10-2016 ^Itâs âbeforeâ â great song and I agree - fab rendition - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTn7U7L7lVM IMHO, sure bets are his debut Jackson Browne, For Everyman, Late for the Sky, and Running on Empty. I admire that he actually seems to conduct his life in alignment with the beliefs he professes â itâs not just lip service. JB for pres?!! Anyone?? I also love this version of the traditional folk song â JB, Graham Nash and David Lindley â from No Nukes ⦠ The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - Jerome - 12-10-2016 'Running On Empty' is a masterpiece! The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - Music Head - 12-10-2016 The Pretender for me The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - bob_32_116 - 12-10-2016 The Pretender is one of those albums where, like Mike + the Mechanics' "The Living years", one side of the album is much better than the other. Abbey Road is another example. The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-10-2016 which side of Abbey Road do you think isn't much chop bob???? as a bit of trivia: do you know why side one of Abbey Road had normal separated tracks and the other side didn't, as in they all flowed together as one track? The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - bob_32_116 - 12-10-2016 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:which side of Abbey Road do you think isn't much chop bob????You probably know more of the story than I do, but I think George Martin had some input along the lines of many of the songs were too weak, and he asked Paul to create a kind of song cycle to round it out - something like that. Answering your question: Side One. I don't really like any of the first four songs... Octopus's Garden is just OK... I want You.is where things start to get a little bit interesting. On the other hand I don't think there's anything I dislike on Side Two. The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - Music Head - 12-10-2016 on my cd there is no separation between any of the tracks tried to listen to side 2 but it doesn't play The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-10-2016 youre partially right bob, Paul has previously said: John and Paul were also bickering, Paul wanted a flowing album, John wanted a 'traditional' album with the 2-3 second breaks between tracks, George Martin thought of the compromise, John owns one side, Paul the other to keep them both happy, but at the same time GM had control over the track listing, and as half the songs were only half baked ideas (incomplete) it is those he chose to put on the second side.... another disagreement they had at the end was about going out on tour again.... John wanted to go all out with whole outdoor stadium thing, Paul wanted to go back low-key gigs like the early days of the Beatles and/or turning up unannounced at various locations and playing, like the concert on top of the building made for the 'let it be' film... they just couldn't reach a compromise... so when the group disbanded and Paul had the early prototype of Wings sorted out, the band used to travel in an old van through the UK, theyd stop at Universities and ask to play in the gymnasium at lunchtime for 50p a ticket entry fee... it was really a way for Wings to try out new material to gauge crowd response and their own skills as a new band... in hindsight Paul's idea worked, look how big Wings became, doesn't mean John's stadium idea wouldn't have worked because they never got to try it. The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-10-2016 Music Head Wrote:on my cd there is no separation between any of the tracks another "classic" MH quote for your book Jerome! The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - Jerome - 12-10-2016 Always something to keep us amused from MH! - what book BTW??? |
