I am listening to a song titled Dancing Mad by Nobuo Uematsu. The song is 18 minutes long, and the last two minutes made me cry.

Carmina Burana was my first thought when listening to parts of that song and it also reminded me some of Bach's organ music...
I liked some parts of it - I've the last decade or so gotten more into classical music and Bach is one of my favorites....
But there are two additional things that I find interesting. One is the fact that gaming music is nowadays much bigger than during my teenage years - maybe due to the fact that gaming industry in general has grown very big... Three of my sons plays League Of Legends - sometimes way to much - and the eldest some time ago showed me that Imagine Dragons had created a theme song for the LOL WC... he told me they were LOL players themselves...
The other interesting part is the fact that sometimes you find a piece of music that emotionally grabs you so much you'll cry for some reason... I have sometimes wondered what it actually is that makes you cry... Sometimes the affection might be related to some context, as for me with the song below, but sometimes it's just the music itself that somehow finds it way to the innermost of you... I have been thinking of creating a new thread on this topic, songs that emotionally affects you deeply

I have been referring to this song before, and it is from a movie, hence there is a context where the singer is being abused by her husband and through the support of the choir community she is a part of and through this song she is finding strength to oppose, to break that destructive relationship... The original lyrics is in Swedish but there are clips with English subs and I have also seen this song been covered in both English and German... Anyway, I have cried more that once to this stunning song and performance
This one is with original lyrics but english subtitles, the link below is an english version - actually sung in english - and she is doing a great version also... but Helene singing the original is such a fantastic singer and hard to beat on this one

after posting "searching for the young soul rebels" I had to go and revisit this 1980 classic:

Think it's better than "Come on Eileen"?

Blondie's "Europa" - the instrumental lead track from Auto American ... I like this track a lot more than anything else they did!

MFS,
were you making a statement about the Dexy's single "Geno" or asking a question mate?

The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - MFS - 03-11-2016

Sorry for being unclear, it was a question for you...
Come on E is the one I know from them...

no problem mate,
I read it as both a statement and a question so I was unsure if it required an answer or not...

im not sure which I prefer,
I bought Geno on 7" vinyl, followed by the album "searching for the young soul rebels" on vinyl back in 1979..
it was their first UK #1 hit.
Come On Eileen was obviously their massive huge worldwide hit,
I love both I guess...
I bought their "too rye aye" album Eileen came off also, both the albums are very good IMO but that's all I own by them, I cannot comment on their other releases.

they had a pretty big hit in the UK off the same album with a cover of Van Morrison's "Jackie Wilson said" in'82, it ddnt reach #1 in the UK, but it was a top10 hit,
im assuming you've never heard that one neither as you mentioned "Eileen is the one I know",
so if you haven't heard it, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCCB8N2chqM

I think the band ended up releasing seven or eight albums in total, but with each album there were numerous member changes as vocalist/principle writer Kevin Rowland was simply impossible to work with, he was awkward, dictatorial, arrogant, rude , you name it, he was it...
Rowland released an album earlier this year which was a covers album of old songs he grew up with as a kid, theyre very folky in the Irish sense of folk songs,
it wasn't a bad album, but I wouldn't buy it.

Ok, thanks for your brief... I guess I have a lot of Music to Catch up listening to - yet I listen to Music many hours a day, but I tend to stick to songs and artists I already know... But it's always great to find new favorites...
I definitely like some Irish folk Music - unless I've mistaken what it is... Waterboys, The Levellers and The Pogues, do you consider that being Irish folk?
Or is it more filled with bagpipes and and such - or might that be Scottish folk Music?
And are you Irish yourself?
