From their debut album. I have it but not that familiar with the song. They didn't really break here until
London Calling. That's no excuse if I have it. Recorded for the Give 'Em Enough Rope album in the UK, but
the boat was slow to reach the US with the debut, so it was on that album here. Not sure if it was
released as a single here, if so it didnt chart. America was slow to latch onto the punk/reggae scene.

Ahhhh! ...Deep Purple ..their 1973 live Made in Japan is still up there ! A brilliant band however I never liked Smke that much...the simplistic guitar riff (even I can play it !!!!....lol) is boring IMHO !

Don't think I was familiar with this until the Stones covered it in '65 on their second album. Another
good cover by Wilson Picket in '66, which bested this one, going to #29 here. Of course Mr. Burke gets the
credit. He claims the song is all his and was talked into sharing writing credit after Berns and Wexler
expressed doubt that the song could be a hit. Wexler disputes that story. Referred to as the most over
looked soul singers of the 60's, only because he lacked the chart topping success of his peers. Mr Burke
passed away in 2010, and has a Grammy and an induction into the R&R Hall Of Fame to his credit. He may
have been over looked in his prime, but he is well respected now.

suggested she should do more rock songs. Don't remember that but don't think I would have liked it any
