Beautiful soundtracks - SteveO - 25-07-2013 I love that album...perhaps it's time for a nomination to the MD Hall of Fame for Michael ? Jerome Wrote:You seem to like soaring voices over different types of instrumentation. Try this from the 18:40 mark. Might not be your thing but you never know. Maybe from the 30:10 mark as well. http://youtu.be/gxyVY7ObZls Beautiful soundtracks - SteveO - 25-07-2013 I do too!..lol Music Head Wrote:work! Beautiful soundtracks - SteveO - 25-07-2013 Lisa is definitely an acquired taste! Listen to her work on Zimmer's Gladiator soundtrack...she's from Australia but because of her exposure to Mediterranean music in her birthplace of Melbourne,, she uses Arabic and Middle Eastern nuances!!! She is also the lead vocalist in Dead Can Dance band! Jerome Wrote:Had a listen to that Lisa Gerrard track. Sorry, I have to say it does not do it for me. Found it quite monotonous. Beautiful soundtracks - SteveO - 25-07-2013 Jerome and Bellini ! I enjoy the contemporary singing of the French artist Emma Shaplin. Beautiful soundtracks - Bellini48 - 25-07-2013 Sarah Brightman in 'FLEURS DU MAL'. A rock version of 'STORM' by Vivaldi done by the korean violinist...what's her name?...forgot. But you look for it in youtube and you'll find it. An oldie, 'ECSTASY OF GOLD' by Ennio Morricone revisited by Metallica. Karl Jenkin's DIES IRAE. Soundtracks from 'MATRIX'. Hey, and you just might enjoy the rock group 'SCORPIONS' in concert with the "Berliner Philharmoniker". I personally love the main track from Kill Bill. Rock wham!!! One really incredible modern classic is Philip Glass, but I can't exactly define him as 'upbeat'. I'd say more obsessive, dark, onirical, disquieting. And when I have something else to suggest, I'll give you a nudge, SteveO. These suggestions are just starters. Beautiful soundtracks - SteveO - 26-07-2013 Thanks for the reccos! The Scorpions looks interesting!...can't go wrong with the Berlin Philharmonic! I have a preference for live albums and DVD concerts! Bellini48 Wrote:Sarah Brightman in 'FLEURS DU MAL'.
