RE: The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - Jerome - 11-11-2017 On the radio - Juice Newton - Angel of the Morning - magnificent stuff. https://youtu.be/HTzGMEfbnAw RE: The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - Ruby - 13-11-2017 From Still Magic, by Peter Skellern. One of those freebie vinyls which I haven't listened to yet in its entirety. I suspect I may listen once and pass on to someone who will be more appreciative ... or maybe I'll love it - who knows??! RE: The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - Music Head - 14-11-2017 groovy baby RE: The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - CRAZY-HORSE - 14-11-2017 another track from Neil's "time fades away" album that I love: RE: The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - Ruby - 15-11-2017 Another track from Steve and the late Virgil Howe's soon-to-be-released Nexus. Video is Steve's tribute. ![]() RE: The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - CRAZY-HORSE - 15-11-2017 a little heard gem from Seger's back catalogue that I love! RE: The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - Ruby - 18-11-2017 The album should really be listened to in it's entirety, and one single track will not be representative since this is a combination of acoustic and electronic. So - from Private Parts and Pieces IV: Slow Waves, Soft Stars, Anthony Phillips - an ambient/electronic track - "Pluto Garden" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V245U1FcfMk, and an acoustic track, "Beach Runner" - RE: The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - Ruby - 19-11-2017 The lead and title track from Big Big Train's The Second Brightest Star. Good album - on some tracks David Longdon sounds more like Peter Gabriel than the man himself! Definitely hear the influence of early Genesis, Marillion, etc., especially on the 17+ minute "Brooklands Sequence", but they still manage to stand up and the album is not overwrought IMHO. Very English with loads of cultural/geographical references, including to the Skylon which I found quite interesting - from Wiki - "The Skylon was a futuristic-looking, slender, vertical, cigar-shaped steel tensegrity structure located by the Thames in London, that gave the illusion of 'floating' above the ground, built in 1951 for the Festival of Britain. A popular joke of the period was that, like the British economy of 1951, "It had no visible means of support". There are pics on the www. Must've inspired a few people, since now it's the name of a series of proposed single-stage-to-orbit spaceplanes. And now that I have wandered considerably far off the beaten track, here's BBT's "Skylon" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_3OJm9mIzo, and going back to the beginning ... RE: The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - CRAZY-HORSE - 22-11-2017 brilliant live rendition of this classic Oasis tune: RE: The Track I'm Listening To Is....................... - Ruby - 22-11-2017 Strangely enough - another "Don't Look Back"! From Boston's album of the same name ... |
