Looking Back At Some Classics - Music Head - 02-01-2013 #416 - Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion - 1975 running recap for me - 3's=42, 2's=33, 1's=10 this one - *** from the album: Toys In The Attic Written by Steven Tyler, Tom Hamilton Produced by Jack Douglas Chart action: #36 US the players: Steven Tyler - lead vocals, maracas, vibraslap Joe Perry - lead guitar, talkbox Brad Whitford - rhythm guitar Tom Hamilton - bass Joey Kramer - drums Jay Messina- marimba From my favorite album of theirs. It was the groups first top 40 hit and just a taste of things to come. The charting gave the band an opening to re-release Dream On which brought them their well deserved fame. The band chose to perform Sweet Emotion at their induction ceremony for the R&R Hall Of Fame. Don't care much for the video that was released for this. Just close your eyes and block out the talking, it's better that way. Looking Back At Some Classics - CRAZY-HORSE - 02-01-2013 classic songs are generally 'old ones'???? Looking Back At Some Classics - CRAZY-HORSE - 02-01-2013 ^^ Aerosmith...never really been a fan of them guys but "**" from me Looking Back At Some Classics - Music Head - 03-01-2013 #415 - Nirvana - In Bloom - 1991 running recap for me - 3's=43, 2's=33, 1's=10 this one - *** from the album: Nevermind Written by Kurt Cobain Produced by Butch Vig Chart action: #28 UK the players: Kurt Cobain – lead and backing vocals, guitar Dave Grohl – drums, backing vocals Krist Novoselic – bass guitar May be my favorite Nirvana track. It says the song addresses people outside of the underground music community who did not understand the band's message. Isn't that what all rock stars that are out of the mainstream say? What it means is you are not on the same drugs we are so you don't get it. The fourth and final single from their best selling album but it only charted in the UK. There was a video made for it which is a parody of 60's variety shows. Pretty bad and I chose not to post it. Lyrics Sell the kids for food weather changes moods Spring is here again reproductive glands Hey - He's the one Who likes all our pretty songs And he likes to sing along And he likes to shoot his gun But he knows not what it means Don't know what it means, when I say: He's the one Who likes all our pretty songs And he likes to sing along And he likes to shoot his gun But he knows not what it means Knows not what it means when I say aahh ... We can have some more - nature is a whore Bruises on the fruit - tender age in bloom Hey - He's the one Who likes all our pretty songs And he likes to sing along And he likes to shoot his gun But he knows not what it means Don't know what it means, when I say: He's the one Who likes all our pretty songs And he likes to sing along And he likes to shoot his gun But he knows not what it means Knows not what it means when I say aahh ... He's the one Who likes all our pretty songs And he likes to sing along And he likes to shoot his gun But he knows not what it means Knows not what it mean's when I say: He's the one Who likes all our pretty songs And he likes to sing along And he likes to shoot his gun But he knows not what it means Knows not what it means [x2] Knows not what it means when I say aahh . Looking Back At Some Classics - CRAZY-HORSE - 03-01-2013 "*" from me, could never see what all the fuss was with Grunge....and it never really had much of a following out here neither until Cobain died Looking Back At Some Classics - SteveO - 03-01-2013 one of my favorite Aerosmith tracks from an excellent album ! Music Head Wrote:#416 - Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion - 1975 Looking Back At Some Classics - SteveO - 03-01-2013 I like the song however I really only preferred NIrvana's Unplugged concert! Not a band I dwelled on too much. Music Head Wrote:#415 - Nirvana - In Bloom - 1991 Looking Back At Some Classics - Music Head - 04-01-2013 #414 - Carpenters - We've Only Just Begun - 1970 running recap for me - 3's=44, 2's=33, 1's=10 this one - *** from the album: Close To You Written by Paul Williams, Roger Nichols Produced by Jack Daugherty Chart action: #2 US #28 UK, #6 Australia, #1 Canada the players: Karen Carpenter - vocal Richard Carpenter - backing vocal Writer Paul Williams began as a writer for commercials, which is how Richard Carpenter heard this song, in a commercial for a California bank with Paul singing. Richard gave Paul a call about recording it for the Carpenters second album. The song became the follow up to their #1 hit Close To You from the album of the same name. Tough call on which of those songs I prefer so I'm looking for Close To You to show up later. Lyrics We've only just begun to live, White lace and promises A kiss for luck and we're on our way. We've just begun. Before the rising sun we fly, So many roads to choose We start out walking and learn to run. And yes, We've just begun. Sharing horizons that are new to us, Watching the signs along the way, Talking it over just the two of us, Working together day to day Together. And when the evening comes we smile, So much of life ahead We'll find a place where there's room to grow, And yes, We've just begun Looking Back At Some Classics - CRAZY-HORSE - 04-01-2013 pretty hard to knock Karen's vocals with anything she does(or did) "***" from me |
