2000: Kirsty MacColl:
died aged 41 in Mexico when she was struck by a speedboat whilst she and her children were
diving in an area out o bounds to speedboats...
most famous or her Christmas song "fairytale of New York" with The Pogues...
I remember her more for two o her early singles..."they don't know" and a cover o Billy Bragg's "a new England"...
I wasn't aware, but she recorded with The Smiths, Talking Heads, Robert Plant, Alison Moyet, Anna (from ABBA), Simple Minds amongst others...
Jerome my be familiar with her collaborations with Dave Gilmour on her 1989 album "kite"???

here's her cover of Billy Bragg's "a new England" which was a UK top10 hit.
