Courtesy of my friend SteveO. Had never listened to a full album of Celine. Glad I have now. A lot more meat than the expected fluffy blip blop. I prefer the ballad type material. Don't really care for she she goes total dance/pop on us. That being said, there were more of the former on here, resulting in 5 love tracks. Tough choosing a favorite with the first and last tracks duking it out, but The Power Of Love beats The Colour Of My Love. Three tracks I didn't care for at all with When I Fall In Love taking the worst. Nothing could come close to Nat King Cole. Any attempt is futile. This is Celine's third english language album making it to #4 in the states, with of course world wide recognition, reaching #1 in seven countries. The Power Of Love was a #1 single here, with Misled hitting #23. Two grammy nominations came with the album for The Power Of Love and When I Fall In Love. Not sure who she lost out to, and I ain't looking it up. Juno Awards were numerous.

Second album and best selling effort (#20) from the Mass. native. Paula claims production credit. Includes the #8 singles Where Have All The Cowboys Gone and #11 I Don't Want To Wait. I'll take the latter for my favorite. It was also the theme song for the tv show Dawsons Creek. Me was also a single and those 3 tracks happen to be the 3 I love. With 3 I do not like, that evens the album out. The album also got her a grammy for Best New Artist. We know about that grammy jinx, so 3 albums since then have not done much. Peter Gabriel has a guest spot here on Hush, Hush, Hush. The connection being Paula opened for Peter on his '94 tour. The piano based tunes here remind me a lot of Tori or Fiona, although Paula's voice is a lot stronger.
