Damn good song once you get past the stupid title. It's not about mice or an elf. Love the funk
guitar and the bass. A double sided single with Everybody Is A Star on the flip. Did not appear
on an album until a 1970 Greatest Hits. The inclusion of 3 new tracks on that, made it their
best selling album. Larry Graham was one of the first to use the slap bass technique on the
track which became a funk mainstay.

Cool, a girl band. Not my fav of theirs, but it was ok. Title track from their debut album from
which Will You Love Me Tomorrow was the bigger hit. How about this line from wiki, "the song
was shocking when it was released for its frank depiction of "a woman ...aware of her mind and
body". They read so much into these things. Can't imagine how those lyrics could be shocking,
even for the 60's.

I have this album and this is the best track on it. Alex Chilton was a member of the Box Tops
prior to forming Big Star. That was the last I heard of him. This was their debut album. Many
artists have cited this band as an influence but with only 2 albums, I don't get it. Those
artists must not have had a very big collection of music.

Redneck rock at it's finest. Ronnie Van Zant's answer to Neil Young's Southern Man. Both became
fans of the other. Ronnie was buried in the Neil Young t-shirt that he was wearing for the
album cover of his last album (Street Survivors) before the plane crash that took his life.
This became one of those southern pride anthems that pissed all the yankees off. From the
groups second album after hitting it big with Free Bird from the first. The song was considered
to have racist overtones at the the time, but not so when explained by surviving band members
later. Of course that was after contemplating media reaction, so who knows the truth? Didn't
know Al Kooper produced this. MD is an educational tool.
