Very nice compilation in this Columbia Legacy series. Only about half, at the most, songs that most would be
familiar with. That's not a bad thing. Bill was a lot deeper than those few hits. Ain't No Sunshine and Lean On Me
were the big hits, and they defined Bill. Ask anyone to name a Bill Withers song and that's what you'll get. Love
both of those but Use Me is my favorite. Love the liner notes that came with this also. An interview with the man
around the time of the release. Retired from music in 1985 with no regrets. Talks about his rural West Virginia
upbringing. Always thought Bill had to be a country boy. Living comfortably on royalties now and has so desire for a
revival of his career. Turned his back on the industry with his head held high.

STEVIE WONDER "the definitive collection" cd,2002.
he was born in Saganaw,Michigan....reminds me of another song!
what can be said about Stevie other than he is a true musical genius....plays almost every instrument known,produces,writes,sings...brilliant!
this is a twenty-one track best of set, i believe there is another set with the same title that is a double disc, which would make sense with the amount of hits he has wracked up in his career.
a great album of hits, just glad that stupid "ebony and ivory" rubbish with Paul McCartney isnt on here...that was a disgrace to both musicians IMO.
for anyone who only knows the Red Hot Chilli Peppers version of 'higher ground', take a listen at the brilliant original version here, by Stevie Wonder...awesome stuff.
'boogie on reggae woman' was lucky to get "**", i hate that word 'boogie' in songs and thus, was going to give the song "*" just for the title...wait a minute, i gotta sneeze!
oh yeh i almost forgot...
Stevie has also won 21 Grammy Awards for his music...very impressive!, and even more impressive....15 of these tracks reached #1 on the Billboard R&B charts

PUBLIC ENEMY "appocolypse '91-the enemy strikes back" cd,1991.
PE's fourth album, and the only one i own....
this stuff is real rap...none of that "ho's,bitche$,niggaz,40s,blunt,mutherfu##er" bullcrap!
just solid rap with intelligent lyrics.
songs contain themes like racism, social divides, politics, alcohol/drug abuse etc...real issues with real statements, fourteen tracks on here, all score a "like" rating, nothing great unfortunately, but obviously nothing bad neither.
as every track gets the same score from me, i'll just be posting a couple of tracks for you aural pleasure!
