A masterpiece. Recorded just eleven days after the Kent St. Massacre, Neil Young lashed out. Listed as being on Neil Young's Decades album, I have it on the live Four Way Street album. Neil says David Crosby broke down at the end of the recording. Emotional time indeed. I remember the period and this incident in history well. The song was banned from some AM radio stations because of the challenge to the Nixon Administration in the lyrics. One of the many black marks of the Nixon legacy.

From wiki, While the song lyrics describe a girl "riding out of the life of the narrator", the
inspiration of the title phrase is unclear. McCartney said it was "a British Railways ticket to
the town of Ryde on the Isle of Wight", and Lennon said it described cards indicating a clean
bill of health carried by Hamburg prostitutes in the 1960s. The Beatles played in Hamburg early
in their musical career, and "ride/riding" was slang for having sex.
Now that we have that cleared up. This was McCartney's first performance on lead guitar. The
song was backed by Yes It Is which I preferred, but I love them both, along with about 90% of
Beatles songs. The british invasion was in full swing. This was the third of six consecutive
Beatles singles to top the charts here and they became the fourth consecutive british to top
the chart. The other 3, Herman, Freddie and Wayne. You know who they were.

23 minutes, which is why I don't care for live albums from jam bands. Couldn't handle it for 23
minutes, but I do love the 5 minute album version of the song. From their debut album which was
not that big a seller at the time. Greg was on the verge of quitting music when brother Duane
talked him out of it. Always wonder if Duane wouldn't have been bigger than Greg. After all,
anyone that would marry Cher.........?
