EARTH,WIND & FIRE "the essential" cd,2002.

lots of funk, soul and R&B on this two disc set, and great stuff it is too!
i had forgotten just how many great tunes these guys had until i revisited this set over the last couple of days...so if someone had said to me three days ago what i thought of these guys i'd probably had said "they were okay", but now after listening to these 34 tracks again i say "funky r+b at its best"....!
they even do a cover of Beatles 'got to get you into my life' on this one...now Paul's version of this song was average IMO so these guys had no hope of scoring anything worthwhile from me for that track, worst track here is an instrumental called 'drum song', best is their super hit 'fantasy', i probably would have given best track to 'boogie wonderland' but as you guys know, i hate that word 'boogie', infact i was thinking of deducting "*" just for the title LOL!
all their super charged hits from the 1970s are on here along with several album tracks and b-sides...great album and i cant wait for it to come round again in my rotation!!!!
